Okay im hoping this is in the right place for a discussion, and im not really sure how this will be reviewed but here goes.

Just finished another great session with my DM, end result during the course of tonights gaming, my character, a Twi'leck female got pregnant.
Now her partner is human. Dont think i need to cover how she got pregnant, im sure you can imagine.

So now i know many people will have things to say, and i hope its kept with seriousness, mostly, but what would they child be?
Twi'lecks are as described human but just with Lekku, and bald.
Would the child be human or Twi'leck?, would it matter if the mother or father is Twi'leck?

Thats really up to you! IMO you would just blend the two. the child would have short lekku, with more human characteristics (eg non pointy teeth perhaps?) along those lines.

A cross-species thing imo should always be a rare thing. But you've got some sound advice in here.

Make the lekku shorter, maybe the half-breed ends up being a human-colored variant, OR the human DNA in it makes the features extremely rare, so you get something like a red twilek with pink eyes, or something like that.

Talk to your GM, have fun with it. Who knows, maybe down the road you could play your Twilek child in a different game!

Agreed... but exactly what would s/he look like? Short hairy lekku? Ew.

As a biologist, I want to say that the child would probably die in untero or shortly after being born Razz

But, suspension of disbelief and all that jazz; yeah, I'd probably go with some of the suggestions given so far; shirt, stubby lekku that probably aren't capable of proper communication; skin colour that's washed out/pale compared to the Twi'leks' (if Caucasian human) or darker (if from a melanic human form). As for hair, it would probably be sparse on the head, but not necessarily on the lekku at all.

I think it'd be ugly to both species Razz

For stats, I'd either go with basic human/near-human 2D/4D, or else I'd give them reduced stats... interspecies genetics rarely play nice, hence so few crossbreeds being more successful than the parent stock.

It seems to be a common enough theme on The Internet and I've seen pictures of half Twilieks before, they had shorter leku and hair on the non leku part of their head.

They even had stats but this was at least five years ago, someones home-brew rules for an online game and I can't remember where they were.

However I did find this on the subject.

Often called head tails, the lekku contain additional sensory nerves and are very sensitive, and are thought to be errogenous zones. Most Twi'leks have two lekku, known as tchin and tchun, or tchun-tchin when spoken of as a pair. Rare variants have a single lekku or up to four. Each lekku is filled with muscles, and stored in the cells of the lekku were the Twi'lek's deepest memories. Twi'leks often use subtle twitches and flexings of their lekku as a form of communication.--from the Unofficial Encyclopedia at TheForce.Net

Seems like shorter Leku could lead to the stunting of the knowledge or perception.

I know that in one of the later Republic Commando books, it's mentioned that Twi'leks and humans aren't able to reproduce. But then, as Penny-Acade so wisely said "Star Wars is about space wizards who live in the past-future." So, just wait and see what your GM decides.

correct about what the novel said, but the Clone Wars TV show supposedly showed a Clone trooper who married a Twi'Lek and had babies.

If someone couldget pics of the kids from that Eps. We could have a basis for compairison lol Smile

Yeah... but were the his babies?

Seriously, yeah, I don't think that the science would ever work out on this one... but I think that our games are more about the fi than the sci. Smile

The way I've handled half breeds in my games, is that you come to middle ground between all differences.

Human - Twi'lek
Attribute Dice: 12D
DEXTERITY 1D+1/3D+2
KNOWLEDGE 1D+1/4D
MECHANICAL 1D+1/3D
PERCEPTION 2D/4D+1
STRENGTH 1D+1/3D+2
TECHNICAL 1D+1/3D+2
Special Abilities:
Stubby Tentacles: Because of human DNA, the half breed's head tails are under developed, they do not automatically know the Twi'lek secret language, and can never send messages. But, with some training in the language skill, can learn to understand other Twi'leks who are using their Lekku to communicate.
Move: 10/12
Size: Up to 2.4 meters tall

Anyway, just a suggestion. I had a character once who married a Falleen woman. Later in a descendants game we played, I played his daughter, who because of her father (near human), was force sensitive, and only got +1D to social rolls because of her pheromones, in addition, could breath in water for 6 hours, and only received a +1 or +2 to swimming rolls. However, got the 13D for attributes.

According to Wookieepedia, the kids were adopted.

If there were a Human/Twi'lek hybrid, I'd say that it would look more human than Twi'lek. There's plenty of near-human species in the galaxy that I assume have some non-human DNA in them. So, it would stand to reason that the human genes are dominant in most cases.

In fact, they would have 100% Near-Human DNA, and not just some. Near-Humans are not human, but they are very similar, hence the categorization "near-human". They are descended from humans who were seeded throughout the galaxy before the development of hyperspace, but have evolved into something new.

I am curious as to what you like/decide what they will look like.
There have been several really good ideas.
Inquiring minds want to know.
