My friend and I were thinking about having some of the Force powers act as reaction skills instead of having to keep the powers up. For example, resist energy or resist stun, or powers of that nature. The system doesnt allow real good use of these powers. What do you guys think?

Of all the discussions i have had, the only one i see consistently being allowed as a reaction is TK, for using it against enemies hurling grenades..

I've allowed force powers of a defensive nature to be declared during the reaction phase. I found it works also not to allow it and make the jedi give his tactical advantage to the enemy so to better place himself in a defensive posture. Declaring first/Acting first isn't always the best for all situations.

This dependes a lot on how you run your games really. All in all I'd say it doesn't sound unbalancing.

I've generally taken it as a by-case basis. Some powers, like Reduce Injury (at say Incapacitated and Mortally Wounded level) don't seem like they'd work any other way... but for the most part, things like Absorb/Dissipate energy seem like they need to be declared.
