Okay, I'm thinking of running a Star Wars Republic Commando style game this Summer. It will be a 7 week Chronicle (every two weeks or so, we'd play), and I'm thinking kind of like the video game "Republic Commando," except of course with a lot more flavor and a lot less combat (maybe .
Comments/tips/suggestions anyone?

Sounds like fun 8)
Make sure that it isn't too much like the game, have the players be another squad of commandos. Maybe fighting on Kamino or something. I'd recomend that they spend most of their time on the ground, in combat. All the role-playing would be Band of Brothers style (i.e. talking while in a fox-hole and on watch, and in the mess hall, or something). _________________ "Your lack of faith disturbs me." - Vader |

Yes, I would definetly make sure it isn't the same squad
If you read about them in wikipedia, it tells all about them, and how they have to excecute order 66, etc. Also, in the game one of the commando's actually is captured/killed.

It looks like I will have 3-4 players, one wants to play a bloodthirsty scout and the other the second in command. I have the first module pretty much prepped, the Trade Federation is invading Kamino, and the last batch of Clones have just been released (a Kaminoin betrayed the rest by giving launch dates and other info to the TF).
It will require tactics, skill, and luck to defeat.

Ok, couple of things. First, if you haven't done so already, you should probably consided downloading some of Gry's PDFs, especially the equipment and weapons PDFs. Don't have to use the stats in them if you don't want, by they could help as a starting point for the type of game you're considering.
Second, keep in mind that Kamino has been invaded at least twice during the war. The first time Anakin and Obi-Wan were among the Jedi there and the ARC Troopers were activated to protect Tipoca City. The second time was lead by former ARC Trooper Spar, he'd basically formed the Mandalorian Protectors and had allied with the Sepratist. So you might want to consider incoporating that stuff.
Don't have to do either, it is your game after all. Just offering some suggestions. _________________ FLUFFY for President!!!!

I'd read through the Rebel Spec Force book before running the game; trust me, it'll be useful. _________________ Luke, I am your father.

That's improbable?

That's...highly unlikely.

If you don’t take this seriously I'm out. |

I agree, the SpecForces Handbook has a lot of flavor stuff that will help create an engaging game. The whole commando mindset, hand signals, operational directives, mission suggestions, etc. Definetly a great read (if only the artwork wasn't generally mediocre). Also check out my Weapons and Equipments Stats PDFs, there's a bunch of items from Republic Commando in there that you should find useful. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

It's one of those official WEG handbooks that you've gotta find... _________________ "Love like you will die tomorrow. Hate like you will live forever." - Unknown |

Yes, and while there is no PDF sharing on this site the PDFs that were once sharred made it into a torrent file. It can be found relatively easily and has everything in it. _________________ Luke, I am your father.

A commando doesn't rely on luck. He relies on his training, on his skills, his preparation, his equipment. Luck is for regular grunts.
Oh, well... good luck on your game. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |
