Quick summery of what happened so far. My group was charged with taking a listening post that the Empire remnant has been using. The group got inside only to find the enemy has been eviscerated by killer droids (horror adventure around Halloweens).
They eventually find out that a surviving scientist who explains that he has been forced to clone people for the empire, and he found out who some of these people were, and was able to send messages out to them during the chaos while the group was attacking the listening post. These people happen to be world leaders (Dun dun dun)
Once the group regains contact with the CO, they are ordered to return immediately. Instead of waiting for pickup they grab a YT-2400 thats in the hanger and fly back.
Ok, now for the next adventure. I was thinking that they might be ordered to save the leader of a planet, and escort him/her to safety. The problem is that I am having trouble putting everything together.
When they get back they will be debriefed and given some time to put some CP into skills, repair, etc. During this time they will be briefed that a new splinter faction of the former Empire has formed, and it contains many planets in this sector (whatever that sector is). I was going to find some starwars star charts and maybe print some off with the splinter group stars mapped on it. I have yet to come up with a name for this group.
The planet with the surviving leader who was cloned (no name yet) has already pledge allegiance with the splinter group (I would never of guessed).
Right now I think that they might have to figure out their own way down to the planet (whatever it is). They then need to get in contact with the insurgence, then try to locate the leader.
I was also thinking of having the leader be hunted down by a bounty hunter who says he is working for the new republic (maybe have him help the group at first). This bounty hunter was the one charged with removing the leader so the clone could take his place, but he failed and has been hunting him down.
I will try to figure out names for all the NPCs and flesh out the plot, if you could, critic my story so far and maybe toss me some pointers |

Well if the world leaders are afraid that the PCs will blow there cover you could always have them sabotage the ship. I have always enjoyed adventures that start with life support failing. Another fun thing to do is have the leaders hire the group through a third party for a job that will get them killed and then take extra precaution to make sure they don't make it. This is a good way of spreading paranoia and depending on what atmosphere you want the game to take on it can lead to lots of opportunities. From there you could have the 3rd party betray the group. This makes it so they have to track them down just to find out that they have bigger fish to fry. But then I try and have at least 3 layers in most of my campaigns that players have to work through. It tends to leave you with more sense of accomplishment that simple hack and slash. |

Yes, I want to start getting the feeling of paranoia into them. So far its been all hack and slash with no real plot or purpose, and I want to change that. The problem is that we can only play once a month or so, and only for a few hours.
Last time we played I had to cut everything short so they could finish on time. I needed them to finish because stopping for a month in the middle of something like we did last time just makes things confusing.
Thanks Expendable for the suggestions, I will keep those in mind. |

I think I will push back the urban combat thing until i can flesh it out a bit more, and instead focus on a pirate/slaver idea that I had been tossing around. It would be a little more simple and black and white. After each game I learn a lot so right now I will try to avoid bogging myself down until i learn more. |
