I never understood the logic/balance that the game designers had, when giving the kid template the same 18d as an adult/old person. Especially when that kid is not evne half as old as the adult... So i was thinking of making a new rule for kids..
NPC templated kid. 8d base attrib, rather than 12d as an adult gets.
PC kid template, 12d base attrib, 2d+2 max in any one.
every 6 mo in game, they get to pump up an attribute, rather than the normal 10 months (figuring it is 1 mo time per game session, and the book says 10 sessions per upping an attrib).
The attrbute cost becomes D X 4 rather than D X 10, up to 4d in that attrib, or until there is 18D total. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

As I responded in the Jedi Youngling template thread, this idea makes logical sense.
I think it would also make sense to put a lower age limit on characters, maybe 10ish (or the same development area for other aliens) would make sense.
It might also make sense to lower move ratings by, perhaps 2 or something.
What would the (standard) Attribute Min be? 1D+1 (8D total) or 1D (6D total) |
