Let's face it, jetpacks just plain rule. What kind of cool stuff have your characters done with jetpacks? My Gran bounty hunter once flew across an Imperial hanger filled with ships, dodging every one of them, landing without a scratch, right in front of the button to open the blast door. I don't think our team could have made their escape without it, and it was just crazy because it was a very difficult test not to hit any of the ships or the ceiling or anything. Luckily, I rolled a 6 on the wild die, and then when I rerolled, I rolled a 6 again. _________________ HELLO!!! IT IS ROBOT RON! YOU KNOW WHO I AM THO ALREDY I DID TALK TO YOU BEFORE . I DO REMEBER. Well once we had to take-out a Remnant fortification. So our group are all on swoops speeding to our target when tons of Stormies rush out of the building, the bounty hunter in our coterie leaped off his swoop and sent it careening into a squad of Stormtroopers taking them all out. While he was in the air he ignited his Rocketpack, flew to the roof of the building, and dropped a few Thermal Detonators and flew away just as the Imperial burst out of access hatch, they where indeed surprised (as was the GM). The building went “poof” while the stupid Jedi cleaned up the last of the Stormies.
All of this was actually rolled legit. _________________ "My schooling not only failed to teach me what it professed to be teaching, but prevented me from being educated to an extent which infuriates me when I think of all I might have learned at home by myself." - George Bernard Shaw |

Jet packs... Ohhhhhhhhhhhh... BAAAAAAAAAAAAAD memories.
We're only used 'em once, and had 'em used against us once.
Our Rodian Bounty Hunter (Well, he was before signing up with the Rebellion) got a Jet Pack from "Somewhere", but no skill in it. And we needed to pick up some folks on the other side of a mountain (The Freighter was broken, as usual, so I couldn't go get 'em.).
So, the Rodian decided to use his Jet Pack... With his skill at 2D or something similar.
Let's just leave it at it wasn't pretty, but he survived.
The time we had 'em used against us was an assassination attempt against the President of a Planet we were on in the Unknown Regons.
They blasted the windows of a building "The Size and Shape of the CN Tower", and flew in blasting. Idiots forgot to target us. After a few Blaster Bolts, a couple of Handgun Rounds (*REALLY* good intimidation weapon!), and a few Hatchet blows, they tried to get out...
Hatchet Man decided to get one last blow in, and THREW his hatchet, hitting his target, which then flew out the window (And creating one of my group's most favorite quotes: "MY HATCHET!!!").
The Assassin with a hatchet in his guts, however, did not survive, lost control of hit Jetpack, and dropped down...
We did the calculations at the time to figure out the time it would take to drop, and his velocity at the time (Four Math Wizzes, one of which is a half-trained engeneer, and another is a computer specialist for the local mine)...
We just left it that the Hatchet did not survive the fall.
Those are my experiences... I've had the idea for "Skytroopers" (Flying Stormtroopers) for a bit, but I've never gotten past the planning stages for 'em. |

Ya, I saw that later, which is another reason to get into 'em...
But, if they're as good as your other Stormies, there should be no prob with 'em.
Need help with the Skytrooper Armour??? |

Does anyone have the offical stats for space trooper armour? One of my character's aquired some in a previous game but we never had any stats for it...
I'd really like to get some resized for an esoomian but it's probably cheeper to buy him a small spaceship |

I figure the armour would be effectively the same are regular Stormtroopers with the exception of…rocket packs (naturally), hermetically seal with an environmental package (for flying high), enhanced visual an targeting (its hard to see way up there and going so fast), a backup chute, and magnetic boots.
Or the stats I would use my regular Stormie Spec package with emphasis on Rocket pack operation. _________________ "My schooling not only failed to teach me what it professed to be teaching, but prevented me from being educated to an extent which infuriates me when I think of all I might have learned at home by myself." - George Bernard Shaw |

I was contemplating given them better armour, but then they would overlap in function with my Spacetroopers who I also use in my game as H.A.R.D.troopers/Tanktroopers/Zero-G troopers (basically multipurpose mech Stormies). _________________ "My schooling not only failed to teach me what it professed to be teaching, but prevented me from being educated to an extent which infuriates me when I think of all I might have learned at home by myself." - George Bernard Shaw |
