|
|
The P-X-303 Sideliners were developed, just prior to the Battle Of Yavin, as dedicated pirate hunter ships. Only 28 were ever constructed, 7 were known to have been destroyed, 2 were known to have been ‘co-opted by the rebellion, and 6 were known to have been sold off to mega corporations for various reasons. As for the rest, well that is unknown, by most.
The Kelcon net, is a strange new way to look at doing tractor beams: And according to Moff Verx, the project manager for this, if the ship proves a major success over its 4 year trial run, the Emperor himself has given the ok to start incorporating the net array in other capital ships. This strangeness in the net, is defined as a low power continual stream beam, that shoots out, from each node, forming a lattice. As time passes, this lattice is narrowed up, ‘constricting the maneuvering options’ for any ‘trapped ships’. As yet, the net still has a few flaws (see weapon special rules), and consumes a lot of power.
Craft: P-X-303 Sideliners
Type: Dedicated Pirate hunter
Scale: Capital
Length: 214 Meters
Skill: Capital Ship Piloting:
Crew: 218, Skeleton 82/+10, Gunners 39,
Crew Skill: Capital ship piloting 5d, capital ship gunnery 4d+2, capital ship shields 4d+2, astrogation 5d,
Passengers: 120 Troops
Hanger bay: 4 fighters, 2 Gamma class shuttles, 1 Lambda class shuttle,
Cargo Capacity: 100 Metric tons
Consumables: 4 Months
Cost: 2,810,450 New (if sold, and only sold to mega corps), 1,002,000 used (only available used after ROTJ time frame)
Hyper drive Multiplier: X2 (Civilian Model), X1 (Military/Governments Only Model)
Nav Computer: Yes, and also has a 40 jump capacity back up navigational computer, stored in an DEMP shielded area
Maneuverability: 2D
Space: 8
Atmosphere: 325/850kmh
Hull: 3D+2
Shields: 3D,
Sensors:
Passive: 45/1D Scan: 90/2D
Search: 135/3D Focus: 6/4D
Weapons:
1 Tractor ‘Kelcon’ net array. (24 fire linked tractor beam nodes)
Arc: Forward with ability to hit ½ of the port/starboard/top/bottom side
Crew: 17, 1 Captain (who usually has 4-5d tactics: pirate space capture)
Fire control: 7d+1 (this is already including the combined fire bonus for so many beams being used at once),
Space range: 1-5/15/45
Atmospheric range: 200m-1km/3km/9km
Damage: 1d capital scale (7d star fighter).
SPECIAL rules – when the Kelcon net is fired, the captain can roll his tactics against the pirate ship leader/pilot, and for each 5 he beats the pirates by, his gunners get +2 to hit. Consequently if he looses the roll, the pirates gain +2 to their dodge roll for each 5 they win by.
If the Net is ‘successful’ in hitting, it has enveloped the target ship, reducing its ability to dodge, or maneuver out the way. As long as it is ‘trapped’ the gunners of the ion cannons enjoy +5 bonus to their gunnery rolls.
2 straight combats where the gunner(s) get a 1 on the wild dice, forces the net to automatically shut off for 24 hrs. In addition, if more than 3 ‘net array nodes’ are shut down (destroyed), the net goes off line.
Once ‘within the net, the pilot of the pirate ship can make a single opposed roll, per round to ‘find a hole’. If he succeeds, the gunners get a reactionary roll to try and rennet the ship. If that fails, the pirates can slip out of the net. For every 4 rounds this roll is not made, the net gets ‘narrower’ lessening the escape options. This imposes a further +5 for the Sideliners gunners to hit the pirate ship.
3 Heavy ion cannons
Arc: Forward with the ability to hit ½ the other arcs other than rear (like the net array)
Crew: 3 each
Scale: Star fighter
Fire control: 4d
Range: 1-8/16/32
Atmospheric range: 200m-1.6km/3.2km/6.4km
Damage: 5d+2 ionization
6 Light ion cannons
Arc: 2 port, 2 starboard, 2 rear
Crew: 2 each
Scale: Capital
Fire control: 2d
Range: 3-16/32/64
Atmospheric range: 600m-3.2km/6.4km/13.6km
Damage: 3d+2 ionization _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

You, you totally made this because of that other thread.
Why not take an existing gunship and modify it with the net system you designed? There are so many frikkin ships in star wars already.
Other than my suggestion, I like this ship. _________________ My backpack has jets!

I agree with Ray on this one. The Republic was old. So having millions of stars ship types (from all ages) would bec very likely. |

Add to that all the races!
The Republic Navy standardized, but none of the planetary systems did.
Sure you got some with ships from the same shipyards. But also home-built jobbies as well! |

What framework would you suggest it go on? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |
