Yeah, I noticed it when I first bought the book all those years ago. Always wondered... _________________ Arek | Kage |

I don't think the artwork was done specifically for the novels. I've always thought that it was just a couple of X-Wings from Green Squadron. Or something along those lines. Itlooked good, so they put it on the Novel.
Either that, or the Artists weren't told which novel it would go on, just a basic layout of what was wanted. _________________ http://www.boomspeed.com/reaperden/ErcID.jpg |

looks good to me as well.
Im not sure if it will fit in a chapter, but potentially a "maneuvers" section. Just a description of the maneuver, and various difficulty modifiers... _________________ The Vong have Arrived

There are manuevers in other books but they never explain the advantage to using them, just a difficulty to perform them. Why do a barrel roll? It's really hard and what's the benefit? So I'm not sure about maneuvers. _________________ Xynar

Yeah, if I was making this book I'd definetly include a "Space Combat" chapter. With a collection of strategies and maneuvers used in the books and some new alternate rules for space combat. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

But I don't have any new alternate rules for space combat! _________________ Xynar

A whole lot, in fact. I just played a mini starfighter squadron campaign with a whole bunch of new starship combat rules and all that. I posted some of those here in the Pit. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

So for the Starships Chapter I have a working list.
Rebel / New Republic:
A-Wing
X-Wing
Y-Wing
Home One
Bantha Assault Transport
Z-95 Headhunters
War Cruiser Valiant
Victory Star Destroyer
Empire:
Lusankya (sp?)
TIE Fighter
TIE Interceptor
TIE Interceptor w/ hyperdrive
TIE Defender
Interdictor Cruiser
Imperial I and II Star Destroyer
Fringe:
Pulsar Skate
Blade Fighters
Errant Venture
I know I'm missing a few and some will be reprints. The character lists are easy and I'm working on stats and finding pics of most of them (Chapters 1-4). Locations will be the hardest and I'm still trudging through to get them. _________________ Xynar

I don't really see why why we should include stats for generic ships already featured in the rulebook and countless other sourcebooks. In WEG's novels sourcebooks they only included the items that were new and never before seen in other publications... I can see the "completeness sake" argument, but I don't know. I'd rather be consistent with WEG's style. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

Then instead of a full stat block, how about the short and sweet one that they do. Otherwise, true, previously existing stats should not be included save the X-Wing (it's important to the book). But I'll include modifications / upgrades and the like.
On another note, I thought about including the comic series into this as well. This will help beef up the book a bit and make it feel more complete. _________________ Xynar

Yeah, that would be alright I think. Sort of how the Pirates & Privateers book handled all those ship's stats. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |
