It is my pleasure to announce that fogger1138 has located the hidden hunter and won the final $20 prize of the Rancor Pit 20th Anniversary Celebration!

This clue was in the OP from June. The hidden hunter was added to the website on January 16th, 2021. Even if you navigated to the correct page (a page not navigated to very often for any members), he is still not obvious with a cursory glance, so he was definitely hidden. And the "Pit" was a big clue because it had a double meaning. Not just the Rancor Pit website, but more specifically he appeared in an image of the Sarlacc Pit!
Inquisitor1138 wrote: | I am not the hidden bounty hunter. |
Inquisitor1138 was referring to his avatar which features Boba Fett on a jet ski. The hidden hunter was Boba Fett and he was hiding in another avatar image!
Whill wrote: | The hunter may or may not appear in profile |
The first step to navigating to the image was to go to your Rancor Pit "Profile" (but he does not appear from the side).
Quote: | The hunter may or may not appear in a gallery |
The next step to navigating to the image is to click on the avatar gallery at the bottom of the Profile screen.
Quote: | I begin posting a 4-line poem, one line at a time...
I’ve seen clones attack and without my dad I go
Docking bay 94 was just a cameo
The empire strikes back and with my quarry I split
Jedi return and Solo sends me to this pit |
This may overtly seem to refer to the four films that Boba Fett appears in and it does, but they are also four film categories of avatars. The AotC, TESB, and RotJ lines of the poem all end in the present tense, and those three avatar categories all have a "Boba" avatar. The ANH line is in the past tense, and the avatar category doesn't have a Boba avatar (because his appearance in that film was just a cameo). Also of note is that the fourth line of the poem which directly refers to the Sarlacc Pit, describing where the Boba ended up and the hidden hunter currently is. (Side Note: Each line of the "poem" has 12 syllables but that doesn't mean anything special.)
Here is the link that fogger1138 PMed me:
https://rancorpit.com/forums/images/avatars/gallery/6_ROTJ/Boba_RotJ.jpg
"Boba_RotJ"
If you look closely, you will see a Boba Fett action figure in the bottom of the image. Congratulations to fogger1138 for a successful investigation that tracked down the hidden hunter. The bounty awaits his claim of it.
IIRC, back when I was making RotJ avatars I just thought that instead of a Boba Fett avatar that looked like his TESB avatar, it would be fun to photoshop a Boba Fett action figure into a image of the Sarlacc Pit and add that as the RotJ gallery's Boba Fett avatar. I never told anyone about it. I've just been waiting two and half years for someone to notice. I thought this contest was a good opportunity.
Thanks to everyone who has participated in the Rancor Pit 20th Anniversary Celebration. (There is still one outstanding collector magazine winner who hasn't formally accepted the prize yet.) _________________ *

Thanks! I wish I could say I got it right away, but I went down several what-I-thought-were-logical dead ends. |

Absolutely late to the party, but better late than never. Although free time is still scarce, as a Pit-Poster Emeritus, I wanted to wish the Rancor Pit Forums a very happy 20th anniversary, however belatedly.
Thank you to everyone here for all the amazing work and love you all have put into this SWD6 community over the years! I consider myself lucky to have seen, read, and worked on so many projects with you guys.
Even just lurking and perusing the forums at random invariably yielded an interesting idea or cool concept — or simply a good debate. I miss the lot of ya!
Great times were had — and remain to be had still. May the Force be with you! _________________ *************************************

Congrats to the winners. I had no idea the celebration was still ongoing. _________________ "There's a set way to gain new Force Points and it represents a very nice system, where you're rewarded for heroism, not for being a poor conductor to electricity." ~Jachra |

The celebration never ends!
The hunt the hunter contest ended when he was found. The random drawings occurred long ago, but the delay in announcing the winners was in hearing back from those who won and were offered prizes. If anyone would have declined a prize (such as not wanting to provide their mailing address), then I would have had to re-draw for another winner. The final winner has an extremely valid reason he was unable to reply sooner. As soon as I find the prize and make it to the post office, I will send it. _________________ *
