So, as part of the fractalsponge project, I've come across a ship of his called the Mu-Class Shuttle. It's very cool looking, smaller than the Lambda, with a folding wing design that fits well on ships without the overhead height needed for a Lambda.
It also looks nothing like WEG's version of the Mu-Class Shuttle, which actually looks almost exactly like the Lambda-Class Shuttle.
What I'm thinking of doing is folding the two known Mu-Class variants into the Lambda, so it has Utility Transport, VIP Transport and Long-Range Scout variants. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. I like the Fractal Sponge shuttle for a smaller shuttle, but I'm not loving the line drawing of the Mu though. |

Definitely. It's like someone got lazy and just used the Lambda's line drawing with just enough change to make it look different. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. I kinda like it. Definitely looks Imperial.
Though, to be honest, I am a fan of smaller ships, especially when it comes to shuttles and transports. _________________ Blasted rules. Why can't they just be perfect? |

I try not to think of it as "ugly" so much as a badly drawn Lambda. Picture the Lambda shuttle, but missing the center fin in place of a dorsal comm-scan package. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. That's how I've always thought of WEG's Mu-class shuttle, basically a Lambda remake with a dorsal comm-scan package if an Imperial flag officer has to issue high-priority orders while in transit between capital ships or planets. Or even as an escape vehicle to get the flag officer evacuated from a damaged or destroyed flagship so that he can resume command of an ongoing battle on a different capital ship.
Of course, high-priority targets such as the Mu-class are going to be escorted up the wazoo if that flag officer or any other superior officers issuing the transit order are even remotely competent.... _________________ Sutehp's RPG Goodies

I'd fold that mission profile into the broader overall ship type of a scout/courier. It can do everything you're thinking, and more, but at the expense of transport capacity (less passengers and cargo space).
The more normal version of the Lambda would be a utility transport, and the much more rare VIP variant would sacrifice carrying capacity for stronger hull and better shields. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Okay, as promised, I just went back and updated the Lambda-Class by folding the various versions of the Mu-Class into it. Now the main model is a Utility Transport, with VIP Transport and Scout/Courier variants. For the purposes of what we see on the screen, Vader and the Emperor's shuttles were VIP Transports, the Tydirium was a Utility Transport, and the funky line-drawing version from the Scouts book is the Scout/Courier. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Not a space transport, but I couldn't find the Storm IV Twin-Pod cloud car on you stat index. I thought you had done all the major film vehicles. _________________ *
