I'm thinking about using the crystal as possible missing component. Something that when obtained would allow the Inquisitor to reach a deeper level of knowledge and power in the force that his superiors would not allow him to obtain on his own. Perhaps a missing fragment from an old Holocron that leads to an ancient sith weapon
With that in mind, the operation to get the crystal needs to be "off the books" so to speak. |

That sounds a bit like "The Jewel Of Yavin" adventure for Edge of the Empire. The stolen corsuca gem part not the Inquisitor.
I have a player that got his character in similiar situations and the party had to save him. His character is dead now, but I wonder if his new character will be the same. If so, at least one player has said he's not going out of his way to save him. Only time will tell... _________________ "This job is 90% talking to people and 10% shooting at them." |

Pardon me for going off topic here.
It was in fact the Jewel of Yavin.
The Inquisitor ties back to the the force user's obligation. At character creation he rolled a bounty obligation, but he didn't nail down a source of the obligation. He decided to let me play out how he gets his obligation and the cause of it. Fitting because he's mostly just increased his force skills since he began his career with that character.
So the person playing that character needed to leave the group over some real life stuff. Some of the players from my Edge of the Empire group have made new characters
So since the Jewel of Yavin wrap up we've been playing some Age of Rebellion instead. With the stated goal being to run a short campaign with just Age of Rebellion characters to catch them up, and eventually start mixing characters from both games together in different scenarios.
So the campaign I chose to start age of Rebellion with is the West End Games Introductory. That game was my first ever role playing game but I never actually had the opportunity to run the adventure until now.
So I ran into the player of that character and we resolved what happened with his character. The inquisitor contacted him wanting to exchange the Jewel of Yavin for his family. He was given coordinates for the exchange that lead him to one of the Temples on Yavin. As promised the Inquisitor brought the his family and the exchange was made.
But the inquisitor had one more offer to make. You see this poor Bothan force user's brother was a Rebel spy, who needed to be executed for his crimes against the Empire. He would erase his bounty and bring him into the fold as an inquisitor if he could prove his loyalty to the Empire by executing his own brother. Which he did, and in so doing he fell to the Darkside.
So I have some new players in the group, and some returning players from Edge of the Empire, and everyone has new characters. And I have been using the Intro Box adventure from WEG Star Wars as the basis of a short campaign centered around Age of Rebellion stuff that eventually becomes a mixed game featuring characters from Age of Rebellion and Edge of the Empire together.
But the thing is I never liked Shela or her brother from the intro box. So this week they made it for Fortuna City and instead of Shela being one the ambush the PCs in the market square, they instead have to face this former PC from Edge of the Empire. The Players who carried over from the game recognized him, and feared him immediately.
Having survived the encounter with the PCs, he's set-up to become a primary antagonist of the of the PCs in the future, and one that they know they'll have a hard time with because they already have a past with him. Unfortunately Locux didn't survive the first encounter although he died in the most spectacular fashion. |

That sounds really cool, strongarm. I like the idea of using an old PC as a nemesis, and based on his actions it sounds appropriate for him to be a bad guy.
So which introductory adventure? If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's one I didn't even realize I had until this last weekend (the one that came with the boxed set). _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green |

Yep, its the Introductory Adventure from the boxed set.
The little red book has has the introduction to the adventure that reads like a choose your own adventure a little bit, so I actually started the PCs in the Rebel base as it was being attacked. |

Just this last weekend I found another book that I think came with that boxed set. Rather than the smaller books (like the two), it is a full 8.5 x 11, and looks like it's got an entire adventure inside. On the back it's got this cool set of pictures that shows a visual approximation of what the various ranges look like (Short, Medium, Long, etc.) for both ground (with images of a stormtrooper) and space (where they show a TIE). _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green |

That's the one.
It's a fun introductory adventure.
Cut off from their fellow rebels after a deviating imperial assault, stranded Rebels traverse across a backwater world feeling the boot heels of an occupation against their throats. The PCs search desperately for any surviving rebels. Along the way they make new allies, strike several blows against the Empire, and eventually liberate the Planet from Imperial rule. |

Are you guys talking about the Age of Rebellion Beginner box set? Mine came with an intro adventure that has the rebels capture Whisper base. Is their another box set I'm not aware of? Perhaps some bonus Games Day adventure? _________________ "This job is 90% talking to people and 10% shooting at them." |

The adventure they're referring to is a d6 one from The Introductory Box Set, produced by WEG. |

Ok. Probably one of the few things I don't own. Got confused with the cross talk between Fantasy Flight and WEG. _________________ "This job is 90% talking to people and 10% shooting at them." |

That one was my start into WEG, 16 years ago. Running it a 4th time now. Good memories- and a nice unique tone to it. _________________ Star Wars: Marvels, the audio drama: www.nolinecinemas.com
