What, Whill is Dan Wallace? Cool! And even if he isn't I still enjoy Mr. Wallace's endnotes too, now that I've seen 'em. (And Whill is cool too from what I see).
And now I have a chance to get the books that are already converted; we switched computers and 4shared will work for me now. |

lol, I was thanking hish for posting the link to Dan Wallace's endnotes, not thanking him for his comment about loving them. Sorry for the confusion that may have caused. I am not Dan Wallace.

Wait, what? Whill is Hish's brother and Dan Wallace is their father? _________________ __________________________________

Hey, I got it. Why do you think I went somewhere else with it? |

So, anyhoo... edits...
It looks like Combat Sense in the Force Powers book is listed as a +2 rather than a +2D. _________________ __________________________________

You asked for it two years ago, and it's now pretty much done. I'm going to publish it in the next couple of days. I decided that since it's the last of the conversion tools that I'm uploading, that I would include an afterward. I'm putting it up here to see if anyone wants something added to it, or if everyone thinks it's better just to leave it alone and leave it as a simple index.

Afterward
It seems fitting to look back at the tremendous amount of work that the Rancor Pit community has done in converting the Saga Edition materials and offer some comment. Since the autumn of 2007 a few dedicated members of the Star Wars D6 community saw the possibilities of the new materials being produced by Wizards of the Coast. Though many of Wizards’ books evoked varying levels of enthusiasm, it was clear that there was more than enough fan support to merit the collection and conversion of Saga Edition statistics into something usable to the D6 fan. Particularly with new ground being broken with popular eras, such as the Knights of the Old Republic, there was a distinct need for driven and dedicated fans to put forth countless hours into producing works that would be enjoyed. It was only through the support of the fan base that the people who converted the stats could ever have found the energy to complete the task. That support took the form of encouragement and positive criticisms. For that support, I am ever thankful. Those who use these books are in your debt. However, I think none of us can overlook how much we owe the professional eye and talents of Thiago Aranha who engaged in the tireless task of editing and laying out the PDFs.
As the conversion project pushed on through 2010, we had more downloads than any of us had ever expected. It has been heartening to see how many have joined the Rancor Pit forums on account of the conversion books we have created. It is noteworthy that many of the stats are representative of the creations of Wizards of the Coast, and with any new RPG product there will be mixed reactions. Some of the criticisms that we’ve received suggest that the stats do not always fit in well with the older standards presented by West End Games. We encourage you to use, modify, change or discard these stat blocks as you see fit for your games. Should these statistics serve as an inspiration for you to create something different for your game, then so much the better. We are happy that the conversion books have done something to help your game.
Granted, at the end of such an extensive project we are much more the wiser at this end. It is likely that if we had begun with the same understanding that we have now that some things might have been different; however, not terribly different. Thus, all of us who contributed have good reason to look back and be proud of what we have done over the past few years. So many of you who supported have earned our thanks.
Since the end of the conversions, most of us have moved on to other projects. New paths are being forged in D6, particularly with the debut of Open D6. We encourage you to come by our forums to see the latest ideas that may further your Star Wars or other D6 settings.

Well said, I enjoyed that personal reflection of all the hard work you have done.

I hope this doesn't mean you are not doing anymore star wars projects.
Cheers and thanks for everything |

Agreed, I have to add my thanks to you and all the other contributors to this forum for the conversion books, stats books, and various other publications, that have sprouted over the last few years...
I realize now I was coming in rather late in the game...
Here's hoping these won't be the last projects you work on for Star Wars, and yet here's hoping that you are enjoying yourself and gaming hard in whatever you have moved, or will be moving, on to...
You guys rock, each and every one of you...

Well said!
And just because the last of the WotC materials have been converted, that dosnt mean that there arent hundreds of other projects that we can pull together for. After all, we still need a Galaxy Guide for the Star Wars Holiday Special! |
