In the 100-odd years of this for of entertainment, sequels are usually worse than originals, and adapting a film to tv or tv show to film is usually worse, too.
There's dozens of details I've disliked but overall it's fine.
The modernity is a real mistake. The more fashionable something is, the sooner it appears dated. Thus even though I look forward to new episodes, I know full well that this show won't age well. It'll soon look corny and old fashioned in a way the movie doesn't, presently. |
