It's just like the old joke that far too often appears to be true.
"Pull pin and throw it. OK." *Pulls Pin, Throws Pin. Keeps Grenade in hand.* |

That would have helped nothing. The Ball Players were still trained in the use of grenades. Just imagine if a Nazi did try that ball glove thing.
*THWUMP* "Ich verfing mich es!" *BOOM*
And no one else would ever try it again. EVER! _________________ My backpack has jets!

There ya go... although it would have been fun to see them trying to bat grenades back... cuz our guys would surely have let enough time dwindle off so that the grenade went off just as they might have made contact...
*Eyes grow wide* "D'OH!" (translated from the German for "D'OH!") BOOM!!!!!!! |

Gernade skill:
How to arm
How to throw
Timing (so the enemy cant kick or throw it back)
Placement (safe distance, cover, tossing around corner, etc)
Targeting (center of group)
Thrown Weapons skill:
Throwing a spear, knife, etc. with accuracy
How to throw so pointy end goes first (important, nades don't care how they are pointed)
I see them as two seperate skills which are related, but unique.

True, throwing spears and grenades are very different, but I think the overlap confusion comes from rocks.
If a PC had both skills, and some rocks, I would use the Grenade skill for hitting a paticular spot with good accuracy, but only deal 1D damage. Thrown Weapons would be a bit less accurate, but could add Strength to the damage roll. (A good hit roll would avoid armor). |

"Crunch have rock!"
Go back to sleep, Crunch, you now have better weapons that rocks.
"Yes... But Rocks CHEAP!"
You also have a net worth in the Millions of Credits. A Blaster Bolt doesn't cost *THAT* much.
"Yes, but, rocks make great squishy noise when hit someone hard!"
There is that. |

Personally I always loved the sound of a 40mm grenade being launched out of an M203... 8) |

That list is friggin' hilarious! Makes me wish I'd tried a number of them while I was in...
Especially the ones concerning food coloring! |
