My rankings, for what it's worth:
1. Star Wars Episode 4
2. Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back Episode 5
3. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
4. Star Wars: Return of the Jedi Episode 6
5. Star Wars: The Force Awakens Episode 7
6. Solo: A Star Wars Story
7. Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Episode 3
8. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Episode 9
9. Star Wars: Attack of the Clones Episode 2
10. Star Wars: The Last Jedi Episode 8
11. Star Wars: The Phantom Menace Episode 1
yeah, I jump all over the place. And there are spots in some of the lower ranked movies that I may appreciate quite a lot (for example, Luke's Force use in The Last Jedi ranks, individually, up there with Return of the Jedi) but the movie as a whole ranks much lower. |

I liked the space combat, loved the banter between Kylo and Ray, and even the 'sharing of the lightsaber', (though how the hell did they do that?), and the sacrifice of leia... _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Oh, that one's easy. With a mere hand wave, The Force is magic now. In a pre-release interview, Abrams said that in this film The Force is going to do things it never has, and he even warned that a lot of fans aren't going to like it. He was right. Glad you liked it. _________________ *

Yes, something along those lines. Only able to do it with Ben because of their "connection".
I'm just offering a possible explanation, I thought it was stupid. _________________ RR

I'll admit, i didn't like the "they are connected" in a way no other force user has before, starting out, but i grew to like it.. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

The world between worlds thing was just a plot device to save Ahsoka from her prior death in the show. It being a high profile canon TV series opened a huge can of worms because now time travel is possible in Star Wars. TCW already had The Force working as magic but TRoS brought it into live action. I feel that using another dimension explanation for the poofing (that allowed for time travel to save a film continuity-breaking character so she could be brought into live action on the Mandalorian) doesn't really help me feel any better about it. It is replacing something stupid with something else stupid.
I find that I didn't have any issue with their mental connection other than the cause of it. In TLJ Snoke boasted that he created the connection with to lure Rey to him (I supposed so he could destroy her and/or get closer to finding Luke). Then in TRoS, it's a "dyad" connection existing in nature because of... them being a Palpatine and Skywalker born a decade apart? When Kylo's hand was wet in TLJ, I had thought, maybe the water isn't actually there and it just looked and felt like there was water in his hand from the connection.
In TRoS, I thought even the remote lightsaber fights could be a mental battle of wills through the connection. I mean, they were really swinging their sabers at each other, but they never really connected and it only felt like they did to both of them. But then when the necklace went from Rey on Kijimi to Ren on his star destroyer in another star system, that's when I felt it got stupid. The lightsaber pass on Exegol is just the same thing as the necklace. _________________ *

Yeah, when they started having the connection leave tangible proof like the necklace and the water, I rolled my eyes and dumped the idea in the trash bin. The saber passing was just too much. _________________ RR

Initially i thought it was Snoke's doing too.. BUT after seeing skywalker, i am wondering, was it the FORCE itself, that did it? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |
