Next week is the last week of it, sadly; I'm taking a couple months off. _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"

And, unfortunately, my last game had to be cancelled on account of an emergency root canal. _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"

I hope it doesn't hurt much and heals up soon! |
It's a lot better, today. Just annoying. _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"

Well, it's official: I'm going to run "Breakout from Ahto City" at PopMadness, an online con through my library. Pretty much the same plot, though. _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"

Despite your betrayal to D6, I'm interested in hearing about how the game goes. _________________ *

As I said on FB, I think D6 is a fine system... but R&E is a 25 year old modification to a 34 year old game. A lot of game design has happened in a quarter century, to say nothing of a third of a century. In a lot of ways, I think Savage Worlds is a mechanical successor to D6, but with certain things baked in that just weren't part of the common parlance back in 1987... like Edges and Hindrances to create varied characters, or the concept of Raises, allowing for great success to mean something. _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. Well not really, because no one currently running a game based on Star Wars 2e (either sub-edition) is running exactly per RAW. My game system has never stopped evolving, but I admit I have less than average exposure to 'trends' in game design due to relatively less experience playing other game systems in the last 25 years. I have probably played more various RPGs from 1980-1986 then I have since 1987 when I found WEG Star Wars. It seems to be the norm for gamers to have some degree of RPGADD, always following the alluring pull of the 'game of the month'. Most of my 'innovations' were invented by me or the result of discussions with other grognards.
But my main point is, game systems aren't all or nothing. I fully reject the notion that Star Wars D6 2e is inadequate and must be junked for newer systems. But I am open to tweaking. I think I've asked before, but I would be really interested in hearing how these supposed 'innovations' in gaming of the past 25 years could be house ruled into D6.
Rerun, who I wrangled back to the Pit to post in this thread in 2019 because he had ran Star Wars with an adapted Savage Worlds system, had talked it up so I bought Savage Worlds core book (Deluxe: Explorer's Edition, 2012). Then he tells me, it plays better than it reads. And I have better things to spend reading time on than RPGs I'm not going to play. If there are any mechanic innovations of Savage Worlds, or any other games, that you feel could help Star Wars D6, I'm all ears.
Please anyone, if Star Wars is out of date in some ways, please reply with some innovations, what game they are from, and how they could help D6. Thanks. _________________ *

I'll noodle with it and start a new topic. _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"

I enjoyed your recaps very much. Sounds like you had a quite challenging character to deal with!
Savage Worlds is a lot of fun, and I look forward to that discussion elsewhere. _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green |

Ok, for my game Saturday, I want to have 6-8 pregens. What type of characters would you like to see?
Some Guidelines:
1) All characters will be Jedi Younglings, who just made their lightsabers (so, 12-15 years old, with the Young (minor) hindrance)
2) Characters do not have much in the way of skills, but will have 10 points to spread around, so they might specialize a bit... you might have a gearhead jedi, the really mystical one, the guy who is REALLY into fighting, etc.
3) I can make up races pretty easily, but I have a few premade.
I can wing it, but if folks want to contribute, please do. _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"

You could use the Jedi Templates from Tales of the Jedi for specialist Jedi. I did when I ran an all Jedi group and thought they worked fine. _________________ RR

Sadly, I only had one person show up, who had no experience with RPGs, much less Roll20. I tried my best, but he left. _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"
