Reactive Armour. Skirtzen. ECM. Etc.
All the beautiful things that prevent tanks from going up because some Farmer with a cheap RPG and a weeks training decided that it looked good in the sights.
Reactive Armour: Small shaped charges on the hull of the vechicle. They're tied into sensor systems to notice incoming RPGs, and detonate before impact. The charge causes the warhead to detonate prematurely, and lose most of it's destructive potential. The destructive blast also causes the shaped charge of the warhead to be deviated slightly.
Skirtzen: Cheap alternative to Reactive Armour. These are literally skirts of metal on the sides of a vechicle, that cause the warhead to detonate prematurely. Not as effective as Reactive Armour, but cheaper and easier to replace in the field.
ECM: Electronic Countermeasures. Attempts to jam active tracking missiles. A lot like the A-Wing Jammer, but useless against "Dumbfire" or "Wire Guided" weapons as those have no active tracking systems.
There, a few suggestions. |
