That's one thing I've noticed about garhkal's posts: he very often plays the contrarian on this forum, disagreeing with many people on this forum. Not that that's a bad thing: as a lawyer, I fully understand the need for a devil's advocate to state the opposite side of an argument.
And while garhkal may rub some feathers the wrong way occasionally (and I am not pointing fingers here b/c I've inadvertently done that once or twice myself), he has the advantage of being an honest contrarian. Not only does that make things interesting, sometimes garhkal is even right about some things. Which is to say that sometimes I find myself agreeing with him when others don't (and not that he's necessarily "right").
That's what this forum is for: the free exchange of ideas about Star Wars. It's to everyone's advantage that garhkal is here with us.

gar runs things from the position of a convention (Sparks) GM, whereas I run games from the position of a GM running for friends & family.
He and I have argued enough over the years that after 1-2 posts of either one of us not budging, I just let it go.
