I wish there was a different stat, like AC, that's used for absorbing damage. Seems like you might be on the right track. I think from now on I'm just going with "no, you can't be a Wookie", approach. Rolling Eyes

First off, how far did the enemy set up? Most grenades are 30-40m max range to be tossed.
2nd, the cover should have made it harder for the party to get all of them in one go. Were their grenade rolls that good?
