Check the bubble canopied Z-95 in the original Corporate Sector sourcebook. I seem to recall that was an earlier model than the one in the main rulebook and had some differences. Speed may have been one of them.
My copy is an ocean away so I can't check it for you. |

I think that's the newer Z-95 with the rectangular X-wing style canopy. Han Solo flew one with a bubble canopy in one of the Brian Daley novels and IIR they used those stats in the source book. |

Per the Han Solo & The Corporate Sector book, Mark I Z-95's had a Space of 5, while the version featured in the Rebel Alliance Sourcebook had a Space of 7 _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. The version in the CSA book is an older, single-seat fighter while the Z-95 in the Rebel Alliance Sourcebook is a 2-seat trainer. _________________ Han - "How're we doin'?"

Actually, the stats in the Alliance book are for the single seat version, although the write-up mentions the two-seat trainer, _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. I stand corrected, the stats for BOTH a single seat Z-95 and a two-seat Z-95 trainer are in the Rebel Alliance Sourcebook.
Those are both more likely newer models and/or modified from the Z-95 presented in the CSA Sourcebook. Since the Daley novels were set several years before Yavin. _________________ Han - "How're we doin'?"

You're right. I need to stop posting before I'm completely awake. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. It's expected that you will make up new rules to suit the needs of your game." - The Star Wars Roleplaying Game, 2R&E, pg. 69, WEG, 1996.

Maintenance giving a 40% increase in speed? I wish my mechanic was that good. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. It's expected that you will make up new rules to suit the needs of your game." - The Star Wars Roleplaying Game, 2R&E, pg. 69, WEG, 1996.

It depends on how badly the ships have been kept. 2 of our MTVRs when we were deployed 2 yrs ago had such poor MPG/rpm from poor maintenance, than when a good overhaul of the engine was done by Construction Mechanics, they guestimated almost 35% increase in efficiency.. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

IMO, this would be something more along the line of the difference between F-14A's with their relatively anemic TF-30 engines, and the later models with the more powerful F110 engines, in that the increased power came not from a better maintenance routine but a general system upgrade. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation.
