Well the point was to point out why some may see the Jedi as being overpowered and that this is countered with the moral issues of being a Jedi. It's a bit like the cliche of someone being very big and very strong who generally tries to act as passively towards others as possible for fear of accidentally harming them. The gentle giant scenario. Sure Jedi are more powerful than non-Jedi characters, but the consequnces should even things out.
