Clever players could defeat the Krayt. Unimaginative ones who attempt to "brute force" their way will lose. (As it should be.)
Dropping rocks on its head, using the environment, ramming it with the skiff, grenade down the piehole... all excellent ideas.
If your players insist on brute forcing it: combined fire is your friend. (and your enemy, if you're one of those mythical bulletproof Wookiees.)

As mnay wookie players in my games have found out to their dismay when a full squad (10 men) of stormies combine on their butts!
