You beat me to it, Gry!
I just wish you could save the results somehow, and the text seems to go by a little too fast. Also the music has a break in it. Still, it's pretty darn nice.
I noticed the article on StarWars.com that announced the new online tool:
http://www.starwars.com/games/news/starwars_crawl_creator/index.html
mentioned that the official version was inspired by work done by a Louisiana grad student named Brent Budden, who posted his version (Flash and perhaps other formats) on a blog. Has anyone seen this or know if it's still posted? |

I believe that fan-made creation is the link that first prompted this thread. It was taken down shortly after gaining popularity, certainly due to action taken by Lucasfilms.
Yeah, the text does go by a little too fast, and the cut in the music is a bit annoying, but all in all this version is pretty good. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

Whoops, thanks Gry - I forgot to look back earlier in the thread. Yep, that appears to be Mr. Budden's removed site (starwarscrawl.com).
For those who remember the old site before it was removed, was it better than what's up at StarWars.com now? Was it in flash format? |

I only saw the Mac version, and it was much better. It didnt start with the crawl, you could have your own text instead of the image below as well..
In short it was more complete, and also not only online.
I was soo much hoping for a windows version of that program...

Random Numbers on this board (also a player in my group) is a bit of a MacGeek but also proficient with windows. Come on Random, free character points and Jedi upgrades for a windows version!! _________________ My Biggest Beard Retard award goes to: The Admiral of course.. |

That Mac version looks amazing, ZaaphodD! Thanks for the post. Another reason why buying a Mac in the future might make sense. |
