yes, demolitions is a technical skill. I was trying to imply that verpines are not usually demolition experts. they traditionally use their technical skills to repair things. understand? _________________ "Without the risk of failure, there is no hope of glory" |

I understand your point but I disagree
Demolitions has many mundane uses within society especially a society that lives primarily within and asteroid field. I would see nothing unusual about a Verpine with a high demolitions skill |

True. I would imagine many Verpine demolition experts are called upon to blast new interiors for the many Verpine homes.
I think playing an alien for the pure fun of roleplaying situations as an alien, is the reason we do it at all. I, for one, couldn't play Miraj without pretending not to understand simple machines and technology. Or play a wookie without the Chewie roar or a barabel who isn't mean.
I roleplay, because I like to roleplay. I play star wars because I can roleplay as another species if I wanted to. "to boldly go where no one has gone before." _________________ "I don't know about angels, but it's fear that gives men wings." -Max Payne

I fully agree.
As an Esoomian I choose to roleplay the difficulty speaking basic this means 2 out of 3 of our players have some form of speach impediment. It makes for some great fun when the only human is trying to talk to us |

So are the Horansi in any novels or comics, or were they just created for the RPG suppliment? _________________ "I take orders from just one person: Me!"

I really don't think giving the Horansi Bite and claw damage would make them too uber, there are a ton of races that have stuff like that... they'd just be another species with razor claws and sharp teeth _________________ "For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Lots of species look to have claws and the like generally we use the rules that if it looks like you've got claws but there are no rules for it you can use your claws to cut things (slash ropes and the like) but don't do any extra damage |

The Only Really convenient thing about having claws and sharp teeth is that your character is ALWAYS armed. That is the one thing that I like about Ragnars cyber hand, I always have a weapon "just in case."

When your strength is 7d you're always armed even without claws or cybernetics.
Is the claw just a lump of shaped metal or is it actually a device?
If it's a devices what happens if you are hit with an ion blast or in a ship hit by an ion blast, does it shut down so to speak? |

I think it's a bit wierd how brawling damage is dealt. When I punch, I can almost never do too well, but kicks are a completely differet story. Are there rules for damage with different parts of the body (like headbutts)? _________________ 'God gave you grace to purge this place

My group had rules for Headbutts once upon a time... Haven't had need for 'em so long, I can't remember what they are any longer...
But they were effective, particularily with Crunch, my Klatoonian Roustabout, who had his own wrestling move (He has 8D in Brawling: Pro Wrestling), The Flying Headbutt.
His Signature Move. |

Ragnar's claw is implanted into his cybernetic hand...that's is why it's concealable. If the hand gets damaged or ionized then, I can't use it until it is fixed or ionization wears off. |
