Can you add 3d to one skill via specializations?

Well he has survived such an assualt twice before (once against a 12 man squad) taking no more than a light wound.

this time he killed three Stormies, severally wounded two more and got light wounds on the rest by walking and Spliting his Fire, took him four rounds to cover the first 20m without taking Damage (only one had scored kill by then) then all the surviving Stormies hit (6 stuns from the Blasters and a Wound from a Derict hit from the GL) next round he took a "Kill" rusult from Two Blasters and the GL the rest where Incapastated or dead.
