Soo.... who else wishes it was going to be a VR version of X-Wing and TIE Fighter?
Not that my system will be able to run it one way or the other. _________________ __________________________________

OK, so trailer has arrived.
Do you also have the feeling that in real gameplay ships travel at only fraction of speed that is presented in the trailers (based on trailers from BF and BF2)? I mean, look at this pursuit in asteroid field... _________________ Don’t Let the Rules Get in the Way of a Good Story. |

There is some word on the street that it will have PC VR and PSVR support, mentioned by one of the larger VR media groups. |

I'm Ray's complete lack of enthusiasm. |

The trailer is cool. My son is really excited for it. He is already wanting to get the next Xbox for Christmas. I hope this VR stuff is not for Xbox because that just means more technology upgrades (and more money). _________________ *

Given that it's going to be released on console, I suspect that it just won't have the nuance in the controls that X-Wing and TIE Fighter did.
It still looks interesting. _________________ __________________________________

Just got shot up a whole lot. |

Oh, don't worry. You still get shot up a lot even if you do execute them. _________________ __________________________________

Yea. Too many 'good games', these days, seem to ONLY BE Console. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

It looks pretty, but the whole time I'm watching it, I'm wondering how finnicky the controls are going to be, and how much time it's gonna take to learn how to play and I'm instantly turned off. Might be fun to watch someone else play, though!
Full disclosure, I've never really liked flight sims. _________________ RR

I don't have any experience with X-Wing or TIE Fighter, but the Xbox One controls are very complex and nuanced. Each controller has 2 joysticks, a directional pad, 4 buttons, and 4 triggers. I find playing my son's games like Battlefront to be very difficult. But hey, I'm just an Atari guy. Video gaming has come a long way since Missile Command and Yar's Revenge. I did get pretty good at Nintendo's Dr. Mario.

I think this is probably a very valid concern. I'm already not looking forward to the learning curve where my son get frustrated because he keeps crashing. _________________ *

Hang in there Whill! Kids today are pretty sharp. My daughter has figured out how to do more stuff with my cellphone than I have. LoL
I just don't want to be challenged by gameplay anymore. I don't have the time to spend to master something I'll never play again. _________________ RR

Maybe if we set things up so that we can play together and have a flight of fighters of our own...
