Wasn't sure where to place this... but since i might be using it for the universe source book its a good a place as any.

I though a list of aliens and what they are commonly portrayed as would be helpful. For example Rodians= bounty hunters, thugs, etc. or Hutts commonly portrayed as crime lords.

That way you could either avoid or embrace these common typecasting as a gamemaster.

So please list the professions or emotions commonly associated with a particular alien.

apologizes in advance for long post.

Would really like to see this come to fruition. i working on a alien supplement book and thought this would be great tool for gamemasters.

Klatooinians could also be thugs.

Zeltrons are known for being extravagant and promiscuous. Sex is an important part of their culture. (Think of an entire species of Rihannas)

k edited the first post with your responses.

Cheshire, I agree with you on the twileks and that tired trope. Is their another term we can use that might be a little more family friendly? I was trying to think of something and was coming up blank.

Thanks to everyone for their responses. Keep them coming.

Outlet for male fantasy? ...I mean, we never see Bib Fortuna in a Speedo
Physically objectified?
overshmeksualized?

Yeah, it's hard to accurately describe how they're depicted in a family friendly way when what they're doing with the species is by nature not particularly family friendly. I mean, even in this KOTOR video it's only thinly veiled:

I totally agree with you. I want to include it because of how rampant and disgusting it is but i'm conflicted because i want to make it family friendly.

So i guess I can't have it both ways. I thought maybe you would have an idea.

Added more to the first species will add more later.

With Twileks you have to seperate them into male and female

Twi’lek Female = Slave/ Dancer-Entertainer

Twi’lek Male = Thug

Well you could call them something like escort, qeisha, or companion

Neti wouldn't have a stereotype. They area rare, all but unknown plant based lifeforms. But force-strong being with incredibly long lives who can turn themselves into trees or quadruped animal-esque forms.

We should compile a list of generally unknown species.

I think that "physically objectified" doesn't offend too many sensibilities. It's kind of like an amateur acting group I knew... their philosophy was, "If your kids get that joke, it's not our fault." If you know what the terms are angling at, then you'll know. My six year old would have that drift over her head.

Though this is making me want to do something where we have a lithe Twi'lek female as an NPC. If someone makes a reference to her being the entertainment, I can imagine her yelling, "I'm a BANKER! For crying out loud I get enough of this at work! I have a MASTERS degree, you know." and then having the party slapped with sexual harassment charges as well as being threatened with an accusation of speciist hate speech." Yeeeah... that could get fun.

And if said Twi'lek dresses like every single female twi'lek we see in the movies... Well that would be some banker's outfit.
