Does anyone know or have a good idea about how time is kept in the SW universe (like calendar months, days, years) and does anyone know how to read these dates that come across in books and modules. Thanks. |

Well, I know that the "universal official time" follows Coruscant's time. That is a 24 hours day, 5-days weeks, 10 months a year totaling 368 days. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

Ummm.... I can't seem to get that to add up. 5 day weeks times 10 months does not equal up to 368, unless there are special holidays that fall outside the months.

"Galactic standard" timekeeping measurements are derived from those which originated on Coruscant. While many planets maintain traditional local timekeeping measurements, all official communications and records use galactic standard measures.
There are 60 standard seconds in a standard hour, 24 standard hours in a standard day, five standard days in a standard week and seven standard weeks in a standard month. A standard year is 368 standard days: ten standard months plus three fete weeks and three more holidays, all devoted to traditional celebrations, festivals and observances.
2nd Edition R&E Rulebook - page 199
Most likely, their calendar is like ours, in which every year is different from the last. This year started on a sunday, unlike the last or the previous, it's not an exact thing. This of course makes it impossible to create a standard calendary, just like it's impossible to create one for our reality. Every year is different. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

Boy either their hours are really short, or their seconds are really long (or WEG stuffed up and forgot to add the minutes). _________________ "I take orders from just one person: Me!"

Those are long minutes. Makes school last FOR-EVER! Okay, Fete weeks and days. Interesting. 7 weeks in a month, also interesting.
Has anyone made up a calendar showing this all layed out in splendiferous color?

Ok, I've uploaded the Calendar to RancorFiles. It's under "Rancor Pit Memebers Material". _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

It's the Brazilian work ethic. I work a guy now who's Brazilian and this is the first time he's ever worked only one job. Lunacy. Guy won't even leave on time he has to stay five to fifteen minutes late every night. _________________ --------------------------------

Hey, that's better than a lot of scrubs I've worked with. I've known people who work harder at screwing off than they'd have to work if they'd just do their friggin' jobs in the first place! |
