|
|
I once found a picture of a man portable laser cannon while searching for something else. It was on some Wiki, though not on Wookie.
The picture looked like it was from some EU comic. It was a Taim & Bak weapon fired from the shoulder.
It looked a bit similar to this:
Anyone know what Im talking about? |

no I dont but you could make up stats for it and use it. I would make it fairly powerful, but give it a wicked disadvantage like a really low ROF (cooldown time, charging capacitors). the emitter looks to be fairly short, so i wouldn't give it too much range.
You can't make it too good because you have to have a reason you don't see them too often.
you do have a good picture to start with however... _________________ D&D 5e DM and WEG Star Wars GM for two kids who will hopefully carry on with RPGs for years to come

Hows this...
Taim and Bak Coronal blaster
Type; man portable blaster cannon
Size: 1.4 meters
Weight: 50kg, 25kg for power pack (backpack)
Scale: Speeder
Skill; blaster artillery
Cost: 3,000 cr. Power pack 1,000cr. 3R availability
Fire control: 2d
Fire rate 1/3**
Damage: 5d+1/4d+2/4d**
Range: 50-100/300/600
This weapon was made by insurgents to combat imperial land units, such as the chariot light assault vehicle. It was cobbled togther at first, from pieces of salvaged E-webs and medium repeaters, but over time the Bak manufacturers were able to refine them.
They need 2 rounds to charge up to fire, and once shot take 2 rounds between shots to recharge. A fully charged backpack power unit, provides enough charge to shoot 20 times. You can charge it up though, by holding off firing. This takes 2 additional rounds and ups the damage by 1d per additional 2 rounds taken. BUT when you fire the 'powered up blast' you roll an additional wild dice as if you had jury rigged the weapon. IF either comes up a 1 on the die, you have a compication. IF 2 or more (for those who charge it up more) come up a 1, you cause the cannon to explode for 8d damage on the wielder, dropping 2 dice for every 3 meters beyond him, as if a grenade went off. Those outside of 3 meters CAN make a dodge attempt to avoid damage, but those within 3 meters are dead footed and must soak the full 8d damage. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Just to clarify (because I'm easily confused): damage is per range (5d+1/4d+2/4d), and 2 extra rounds of charging get you (6d+1/5d+2/5d), and 2 more rounds gets you (7d+1/6d+2/6d)?
If that's right- I like it. Strong but not overpowered. Two appendages up. _________________ Blasted rules. Why can't they just be perfect? |

I thought about making stats for the "blaster bazooka" thing from the first episode of the "Droids" cartoon. I envisioned it firing cartridges that had blaster gas and a capacitor mounted in the cartridge. it would pack a punch, but have a low rate of fire (unless it had a 2 man team). it looked kinda like what you have pictured there... _________________ D&D 5e DM and WEG Star Wars GM for two kids who will hopefully carry on with RPGs for years to come

In Legacy era, the Stormtroopers had a blaster bazooka equivalent as well. |

i should 4x6 it
if we keep up our skill dialogue and get more weapons like this, we might end up needing a "heavy weapons" skill _________________ D&D 5e DM and WEG Star Wars GM for two kids who will hopefully carry on with RPGs for years to come
