I think for the same reasons they might be similarly banned.

Actually I have considered that Rancors are reptommals and Esoomians seem to be reptommals so perhaps they're some sort of genetic cousin... Something I might explore if I ever revisit the Esoomian background fluff I created. However this isn't the place for that.
