No reason not to have "Failed Experiments" before hand, however.
Lots of research gets duplicated. Especailly in a place as spaced out as the Empire.
Ship size is a big one. A Light Freighter *MIGHT* cut it if the Rancor is willing to lay down the entire trip.
For food, we got the Autochef, just set it to Bantha and let it go. Count the Rancor as Multiple People, and your three-month supply just became one-month.
As for entertainment, well... You're on your own for that one. Fluffy gets a Holovid to watch and a paddleball. |

I've said something like this in another thread, but if I had a character who wanted to do one of these things, I'd give them a prop to help them with their roleplaying. Every time Fluffy got inside a ship or a building, the player would have to climb inside a very small and cramped box to help them get the mood. |

FLUFFY! What are you doing in that cargo crate?
"See in video game. Noone see me now."
Fluffy, Fluffy, Fluffy. First off, you're on the ship, noone is hunting for you. Two, I'm sure security guards aren't stupid enough to fall for that. Well, most of them.
And, finally, IT BARELY COVERS YOUR HEAD!
"No see you, you no see me." |

Yes, but therein lies the difference. You had a Dathomir Witch as the main player, with a rancor as a pet, a familiar. It wasn't the main character, and so didn't have to worry about *most* of the issues raised here.
You'd still need a honkin big ship to cart it around in, though... |

Yeah, you kinda couldn't leave Dathomir unless you A) were playing a New Republic era game or B) an Infinities campaign where it didn't matter WHAT you did to the timeline... |

I had two Dathomirian characters at once with Rancors, and likewise, they beasts didn't leave Dathomir. _________________ Hotaru no Hishou; a messageboard about games, friends and nothing at all.

You know a rancor player character might do well here _________________ Don't waste money on expensive binoculars.
