That final word is pronounced with the inflection heavily on a C and U, which carries, even through her helmet.

"As for the training," she continues, pausing for only a breath. "I'll learn whatever I can, and try not to be too much of a burden. But if it comes to a choice between me and the survivors, then you know, as well as Tiny does, that we're all acceptable losses in the eyes of the military. That's why we're being sent on this fool errand, without proper support or intelligence."

"As for what high command considers acceptable losses, that's bantha poodoo. I'll sacrifice my life for those survivors or for any other member of this team. I may even ask others to do so. But there are no acceptable losses, only losses we are forced to accept.

"Redundant, I know. But consider it this way. High command says there acceptable losses because some beings must die for a goal to be met. Those of us in the field are forced to accept them as we have no choice but to accept them only when they occur. Until that time we must do everything in our ability to both carry out our mission and prevent those losses from occuring.

"SpecForce teams had a rule we lived by. Shuttling our dead. If high command had it's way, we'd leave the dead behind in the field. That seems especially true under the current chief of state. Doing that would mean simply accepting and moving on. But while we might move on, we didn't simply accept that beings had to die. We risked our very lives just to recover the bodies."

Rylah stretches a little as she lifts herself off the deck.

"Generally whenever someone wants me in Combat, all I hear is a yell of 'MEDIC'. What you call me when we're in peacetime is up to you, but using Rylah cuts out all the nonsense of trying to remain polite to my gender. Whatever happens now, I'm one of the team, and I'll do my best to work as such, even if I have to work with pig-headed slobs."

"No.. but I went into the mess that the walking flesh-heap seems comfortable living in, when I made sure that he hadn't been ill treated.. For all the good it did me."

"I'm sorry," Garolf says. "You know, the funny thing is I figured it would be more myself he'd have a problem with. Especially with how I treated him when I first met him. I do appreciate what you said, but if this is the result perhaps you should let him vent on me. You're so far the only one who has truely seemed to care for him."

As long as they've not expired in usefulness, she can trust those, at least.

Rownn nods to Garolf as he excuses himself and walks out of the room. Rownn then moves over to the holoprojector and calls up the map of Dantooine with the proposed region the survivors should be in to study the terrain.
