Thanks! I was thinking of US Marshals and Rangers, maybe even a Sheriff and Deputy template. Sound good? _________________ Check out some of my games at DriveThruRPG!

Sounds good. I was actually thinking about suggesting a Marshal, but didn't think they'd have one out in that region yet, considering the year it's set in.
Two different types of gunmen would be interesting...have the stereotypical rough and tough hired gun, as well as a sophisticated/eccentric "I'm your huckleberry" kind of character as well. _________________ Arek | Kage |

Well, from what I've been reading on the net...and I know you have to take that info with a truckload of salt...US Marshals were sent to the Utah Territory when it was recognized in 1850. Just looked up some more info (gotta love this internet thingy) and found that the first US Marshal there was Joseph L. Haywood. He reigned from 1850 through the remainder of the decade I think. I can't find any info about how many Deputies he had, so instead of a full fledged 'Marshal', the template could be a Deputy Marshal.
As far as the gunslinger goes, the Gambler would sort of fill the Doc Holiday aspect of that. There's no stopping you from playing a Gunslinger who's a really good gambler or vice versa though. _________________ Check out some of my games at DriveThruRPG!

Seems to me like the two pairs would each be a single template with distinctions coming in how they're played more than any particular element of the skill allocations. Could even have all four as elements of a general "law man" template... as they would be very similar. |

That's true. So, just a Lawman template to cover the whole bunch and allow the players and GMs to decide what type of Lawman. Simple. I like simple. _________________ Check out some of my games at DriveThruRPG!

True that.
This is SO reminding me of playing Boot Hill. If you get this up and running (most likely on Roleplayers Direct) then make sure you let me know. I'll probably stat up a character (like I have time for that...) |

Yup, I'd be interested in playing this too. My forum is also open for use as a host (Hoataru no Hishou), and somewhere to flesh out any rules for the game that aren't fleshed here. |

I'll be working on some of the other templates soon. I'll also start fleshing out the town of Bloodstone and give it some other interesting characters to encounter! _________________ Check out some of my games at DriveThruRPG!
