				| Yes, it certainly is possible to attach a snubfighter to a capital ship's outer hull and enter hyperspace. However it requires a decent Repair skill, some time and some equipment. _________________

				| That's doable as well, they've done that with an X-Wing and the Falcon. _________________

				| Yes, it's possible. Though I would make it a lot more difficult doing it with a transport than with a capital ship. _________________

I vaguely remember the incident, but I don't remember the book. I assume the falsehood comment is in reference to it being one of the crappier entries in the EU?

				| Ahh. Haven't read that one, or any of the NJO and after books. I think I remember them using it in an earlier one, with the real Falcon. Could be another ship, Lando might have been involved, but I know it was done with a freighter.
Hmm, maybe it was in the Shadows of the Empire novel...

Magnetic grapple, mag lock airlock to get the pilot out/into the fighter... Kind of like what Mirax did with Corran horn's Xwing in Wedges gambit.

Actually, in the early NJO they did that with lukes xwing and the falcon.

				| Attacking 2 Tie fighters on a transport should be a difficult thing. It needs a strong attach system which can resist acceleration when passing in hyperspace. Second point, an airlock must be added in order to allow characters to go into the Tie.
Maniability of the transport should be reduced when carring the Ties due to encombrance. Ties could also reduce lateral thrusters effectiveness.

The transport could not be able to land on planet because of overload.

				| Again, in the X-wing series, they captured an Imperial Corellian Corvette and modified it. They converted the interior bay to hold X-wings on the racks instead of TIEs, and they removed the escape pods and converted their sockets to places they used to dock TIE fighters along the outside of the vessel. I personally really liked that one. It gave them a flexible platform from which to conduct their missions, PLUS it came equipped with a fully functional Imperial hypercomm unit. | |
