I have had Yautja in my game (my brother played one...a very good bounty hunter species!) Another was an NPC hired to take out the young PC jedi. In one memorable sequence he came after him right at the moment Vader was about to capture the jedi. While vader was dealing with the Predator, the PC was able to escape.

I also have Klingons, Ferengi, Vulcans, Romulans, Andorians, Green Orions and Tellarites from Star Trek.

Thunderans and the various breeds of 'mutants' from the Thundercats Cartoon.
(I had an ancient Sith lord patterned on Mumm-ra as well.)

Draks from Enemy Mine

The species of Babylon 5; mimbari, centauri, narn, drazi (was a PC jedi) etc

Xandoxans from The Last Starfighter are 'hit beasts' in common employ by criminals.

The Martians from the original War of the Worlds have made an appearance.

In short, I'm open to the depiction of just about any sort of alien species to help fill out the vastness of the galaxy.

Has anyone thought to stat out the Dralasites from the TSR game Star Frontiers? I've always loved those amusing, amoeba-like aliens. Smile

Well, there's the Brrbrlpp - true amoebas written large, pretty much - but for what you're after, look up Ugor.

Ugors seem to have been inspired by Dralasites. Both species exist in my SWU, but neither have been PCs.

I haven't statted out Dralasites yet because so far they have only appeared in my game as background NPCs or ones who have not had any significant interaction with PCs. In the remote Whills Nebulae Cluster, there is a region of space called "Star Frontiers" (United Planetary Federation, Rim Coalition and the Sathar Void). All the classic Star Frontiers races live there. 8)

Since this old thread was about races from other movies, here is a recent thread specifically about species from other games.

An updated D20 stat for Dralasites can be found in D20 Modern's D20 Future supplement, along with several other species that I presume are from Star Frontiers. D20 Modern is sufficiently similar to D20 Star Wars that running the racial template through a D20 to D6 conversion formula could get you at least an approximation of an accurate stat.

That presumes the d20 stats were a good adaptation from the original system in the first place, and then requires another conversion to D6 which is not an exact science and ends up kinda wonky sometimes. It would be easier to just read the original stats and fluff text, skip d20 and stat it into D6 directly. WotC (the current Star Frontiers property owner) officially released the entire game for free online: http://www.starfrontiers.com/.

I used the Yazirian gliding ability as the game mechanical basis for the gliding ability of some members of my avian PC species. I had gotten rid of all my Star Frontiers stuff with a lot of other RPGs when I was down on my luck 20 years ago, but I nabbed a bunch of of these legal PDFs years ago out of nostalgia. It was the first non-homebrew sci-fi RPG I played. When I've looked, the game has just been too expensive to re-buy.

Just curious if anyone had any stats for E.T., since... you know, his species' made an easter egg appearance in the Phantom Menace.

That is a very cool link. I also played Star Frontiers way back when, my favorite race I think was the octopoid Ul-Mor from the modules. I suppose there's always a slim chance we could see a revised edition from WotC.
