I too thought the same thing. Lol. I told my boys with that giant croc/turtle, somebody was watching too many Sy Fy movies 😂. Overall, enjoying it.

Still not sure about Dr. Pershing though. Except that the die hard converts (her name Kane) to the New Republic take getting rid of anything Imperial to heart.

Ugh, it nerdraged me to see an Imp DS getting destroyed piece by piece on Coruscant due to TM's place in the canon timeline. Abrams' had to fast-track the defeat of the Empire so the New Republic would quickly demilitarize, thus paving the way for the reboot-Empire rising in the unknown regions and the New Republic being defenseless against them, thus putting all the galaxy's hope on the reboot-Alliance. It feels very artificial and forced.

I guess my feelings about the New Republic destroying all Imperial technology soon after RotJ are similar to my feelings about the Empire destroying all the clones soon after RotS in The Bad Batch. It's impractical. The New Republic could use star destroyers for its own fleet, just like the Empire could use all those loyal clones for its stormtrooper corps.

Strange move on behalf of the Republic. Getting rid of the ships that could be vital for the protection of the numerous defenseless planets (food production, mining, manufacturing - you name it) from the pirates, scavengers, cartels, warlords.
Now it is like: "you want protection? Get your own fleet" - so the weapon manufacturers can - once again - profit. Someone was lobbying very hard in the Senate for this "demilitarization idea".

"The Empire improves every system it touches. Judge by any metric: safety, prosperity, trade opportunity, peace."

The New Republic: "We're not the Empire, we're the opposite (unsafe, unprosperous, no trade, war and piracy."

Doug, above all else, you have to watch Andor. It has been described (and justifiably in my opinion) as the best piece of Star Wars created by Disney. It's not flawless (but what ever is?) but it's a great story with a theme and moral perfectly fit for our times: there's no hiding from the fight against fascism.

Sounds awesome, and I very much plan to. There's a number of shows we're not going to see again until 2024, and Andor is one of them, so I've been intentionally waiting to check it out.

Welp. I am all caught up. The weird noir detective episode was obviously not as good as Season 1 but I still like it better than some 90% of what's on tv.

The Spies was back on track with what I generally expect. Pretty good. If anyone can take the Zahn characters and recycle them into something useful, it's this television team, so I'm hopeful about that. They seem like they're trying to redeem the sequels too so we'll see what happens I guess. You'd think the Mandalorians would know better than to chase an enemy through a bunch of unfamiliar corridors but whatever.

Though there were some slow parts (like the ep "The Convert"), I generally enjoyed this season and think it continues to be a strong show.

The unusual naming convention was surprising, but perhaps they'll explain more about it down the line.

That is a good way of summing it up. A weak season of the Mandalorian > most shows on TV.

I'm really surprised there isn't more discussion about TM season 3.

I'd chime in, but I stopped watching around episode 3 or 4.....it bored me to tears and seemed pointless.
