The rules for astrogation have bothered me for some time. Or rather the lack thereof. I took a glance at d20 RCR and used some of those tables to flesh out the astrogation rules and adding detailed travelling times.
I'd love to get some feedback on this one, guys.

I've been thinking about Astrogation a lot. Please look at this thread for my main ruminations on the matter.
Also, I've been beating this donkey to death in several other threads. |

Nicely done HACCP. _________________ Blasted rules. Why can't they just be perfect? |

I've always used the existing astrogation charts with no problem. My only complaint was that they were so incomplete. (This likely explains why I feature the Kathol and Brak sectors in so many of my campaigns.) When there isnt much information to go on, I'll usually rattle off a number at random and go from there. Any time I am accused of making the trip longer or shorter, I explain it by way of gravitational anomalies, fleet maneuvers, heavy pirate activity, etc on a spacelane.
I really like the doccument you put together. It looks like a well thought out approach to the issue of astrogation, and I'm sure I'll be looking it over in great detail in the near future! Great work! |

Giving this a bump because I'll be using HACCP's excellent work - Astrogation Revised & Expanded - as a source for my project. I expect I'll be taking portions of his work and tweaking it to fit my vision, but I wanted to give credit where credit is due.
Whill, maybe we could add his pdf to the Downloads page? _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. It's expected that you will make up new rules to suit the needs of your game." - The Star Wars Roleplaying Game, 2R&E, pg. 69, WEG, 1996.
