The safety feature is a biometric lock, similar to what we've seen with the Lawgiver in Judge Dredd. It takes a combination of DNA sample and Fingerprint reading which then pairs the armor's gloves with 1 user on the first use. It takes admin level software access to remove the pairing, which then the glove can be paired with another single user.
I feel that having a database stored within the glove is a little too high tech.
Anyway, if anyone other than the person the glove is paired with attempts to use it, the glove locks in the open position, not allowing the hand to be used to pick up anything or fire a weapon. _________________ RR

For such a feature, I would agree that 100 more credits per unit in a 5,000+ unit order is an adequate price. Let's round it up to 110 and we have your (as predicted) 200-credit top model. I would say this is only available on the Model 16's. _________________ The only words of explanation you need for any concept in the entire Star Wars universe are the words Science Fiction and Space Opera. |

Just a note: I would call it something other than "blaster glove"... to me, that sounds like a powered melee weapon, that shoots a blaster bolt when you punch something.
"Shooting Glove" is a better name, IMO. _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"

I personally prefer "Blaster Glove" over shooting or shooter's glove because these only work with blasters.
Of course, you can call them "Masturbator's Gloves" if you want... _________________ The only words of explanation you need for any concept in the entire Star Wars universe are the words Science Fiction and Space Opera. |

Nah, I'm with MrNexx - a "blaster glove" would to me be a glove that is a blaster. Either actually shooting - like the Sedgley Glove Gun, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hkmc0o8uVk - or something similar to the punchy injectors used by Blade in Blade II, http://www.propstore.com/product/blade-2/wesley-snipes-injector-gauntlet/home.htm , something that triggers a short-range blast when a punch lands. Other stuff that's similar, would be Diamondback's powered gloves (from the Luke Cage tv show), or even like a bang stick mounted on a glove, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powerhead .
Also, if you wanted to make a powered version of the glove, you might make a full sleeve (similar to the Japanese armored sleeves, kote) that uses external manipulation (i.e. electric microshocks) of the muscles in your arms to both reduce tremors and to re-align the hand and arm faster after triggering a shot. A poor man's exoskeleton, in a sense.
So something like Sorosuub Enhanced Trigger Gloves, or Enhanced Marksman's Gloves or something like that. |

Gonna agree with Nexx as well. A blaster glove is a glove with a built in blaster.
Something like this:
Coyote Blaster-Gloves
Model: Acme Industries
Type: Hold-out blaster
Scale: Character
Skill: Blaster: hold-out blaster? or would Brawling be more appropriate?
Ammo: 3
Cost: 200
Availability: 2
Range: Physical contact
Damage: 2D blaster damage +Brawling damage
Notes: The gloves employ a removable power cell/cartridge which supplies enough energy for 3 shots.
The trigger on the blaster-gloves extend just beyond the knuckles on the gloves
Shots are triggered when an object or person is struck by a punch.
Striking objects that are more heavily armored than light body armor is not recommended because the backwash from the energy blast could injure the wielders hands and damage the gloves.
Black Market versions of Blaster Gloves incorporate a Vibroknuckler on either side of the trigger for additional damage.
Additional Vibroknuckler damage
Damage: STR+1D+1 (STR+1 if unpowered)
Warning: Not to be used in the pursuit of road runners.

^ Nice
I'm still hanging with "blaster glove" for now since it's what makes the most sense to me.
Could always call them "stabilizer gloves" or "blaster shooter's glove" or even "gun gauntlets"! _________________ The only words of explanation you need for any concept in the entire Star Wars universe are the words Science Fiction and Space Opera. |

I have also thought of "Blasting Gloves" too. Think on it for a second, it makes good sense.
If you look in the OP, it says "Blaster Stabilizing Gloves" in the Model section. _________________ The only words of explanation you need for any concept in the entire Star Wars universe are the words Science Fiction and Space Opera. |

"Blasting" is usually used in conjunction with demolitions, i.e. some form of explosives work. So "blasting gloves" would be gloves used while working with explosives.
Either something to help shape charges - I'm thinking something that might help with the moldability of plastic explosives, such as oh I don't know ultrasonic emitters - or something like a remotely controlled pair of droid hands and the corresponding waldoes and maybe a highres trideo camera to make working on explosives safer (and less likely to cost you the use of your hands in case of a mishap). |

I added a poll to the original post about what to call them. If you guys want to see other options on the list, just let me know. Let's give it a good two weeks before calling it, since forum traffic is notoriously low for stuff like this. _________________ The only words of explanation you need for any concept in the entire Star Wars universe are the words Science Fiction and Space Opera. |
