Model: Experimental "Paraglider" Pilot Evacuation System
Type: Personal Air Glider
Skill: Air Glider
Cost: 750
Availability: 4
Game Notes:
Parawings were an invention from the Tech Section of Imperial Intelligence. They were based on racing wings used by garbage pit racers. It was thought they could be used by TIE pilots when they had to eject in a planetary atmosphere. They folded up against the spine of the wearer and could be deployed at the press of a button.
When deployed, it can carry up to 90 kilograms and can move up to 30 meters vertically and 120 meters horizontally in a single round.

"When deployed, it can carry up to 60 kilograms"

Just the thing if your a pygmy TIE pilot and you have to yank the loud handle.

True 60kg won't even do most tie pilots (ave 175lb for an adult male human)..

Sounds like who ever wrote that up then needs to re-think what its weight limits are... Cause at only 60kg, it won't even lift Fett himself, let alone all his gear.

This might carry more weight (rhetorically speaking) if you gave the average weight in kilograms instead of pounds.

In any case, I've updated the stat block. I tried looking for the Combat Paragliders, but I couldn't find them in Rules of Engagement.

Rules of Engagement mentions an Imperial version, but never stats it out. Likely the one in the Field Guide is the one to which they are referring.

Well since a KG is 2.2 lb, 60 KG would be what, 122 lb or so.

Approximately.

A read through of the various stats indicates either a high carrying capacity (150 kilograms including the pilot), or a low capacity in addition to the pilot (can carry the pilot plus 60 kilograms)

Also, the stats read more like vehicles than jet packs, complete with speed ratings and maximum altitude, rather than distance restrictions like jet packs. Something to consider...

60kg in addition to the wearer is a bit much.. Especially when you consider you could have a group with a squib (around 70lb soaking wet) a Houk (300 or so lb min), a pair of human females (anywhere from 90 to 190lb unless they are obese), and so on. That's why i prefer a flat weight limit.

But there is not a single character stat or alien template that includes a weight rating. Accuracy would be nice, but I'm not interested in calculating average weights for alien species just to fit accurate house rules for one exotic vehicle. If necessary, I'd just rule that a larger-than-human character suffers a +5 increase in Piloting difficulties, but still allow him to carry his gear. Either that or allow his team mates to carry his gear.
