I like it.
I especially like that it's a cute little baby Star Destroyer.
I bet it can't wait to grow up and get to play with it's big bros.
You can play a mean "optical" trick on the player characters with it. Imagine the moment of panic as they see the characteristic wedge approach and think it's a ISD, before the sensors tell them it's much smaller (and closer!) than they thought.
Stats-wise it looks spot on, though I of course think it's quite overgunned, but that's my personal problem with the WEG paradigm of big ship armament. _________________ Plagiarize! Let no one else's work evade your eyes,

YMMV. I tried to make the armament somewhere in the same range as a Nebulon B and a Carrack... _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. It's expected that you will make up new rules to suit the needs of your game." - The Star Wars Roleplaying Game, 2R&E, pg. 69, WEG, 1996.

Like I said, it's my personal dislike for the WEG paradigm. In my game, all big ships have their armament house-ruled way down. But designing this thing to fit with the official ships RAW stats, you did a fine job of it. _________________ Plagiarize! Let no one else's work evade your eyes,

That sounds interesting. Details? _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. It's expected that you will make up new rules to suit the needs of your game." - The Star Wars Roleplaying Game, 2R&E, pg. 69, WEG, 1996.

Not so much interersting as tedious, I'd say. But that's what my personal tastes and OCD tendencies drive me to, alas.
For capital (and sub-capital, as I do use an additional scale in between Starfighter and Capital) ships, I much prefer something closer to the, what I'd call, Star Trek paradigm of armament, where even the biggest battleships only really have a limited number of prominent guns.
It really is a case of YMMV and "feels right for me", a purely irrational, emotional connection kind of thing. When I see that the Star Trek Sovereign class has 12 phaser arrays and 9 photon torpedo tubes, I think and feel: "that's cool!". When I see that the Star Wars ISD has 60 turbolaser baterries and 60 ion cannon, all I can seem to think and feel is: "that's a lot of math...". I guess it's kind of like the old quote on one person dying being a tragedy, but a million dying being just statistics. That's what the overwhelming and supposedly awe-inspiring armament numbers on WEG Star Wars capital ships feel like to me - dry statistics. They do not invoke the visceral feeling of power that the Star Trek ships do, instead they blow straight past it into boredom born of over-saturation. Am I making any kind of sense to you?
Aside: I purposedly overlook here that the ISD has over 2x the length and Eris only knows how much more volume than the Sovereign. Both are the biggest (or close enough) cruiser/battleship type craft in their respective settings and eras, which is the operative component for the emotional based comparison. And anyway, the number of guns on real-world naval war ships does not scale linearly with length/volume either, right?
That's why I house-rule the armament of existing capitals, when I use them, down to something that is more "emotionally" managable and engaging for me personally.
To give you a concrete example of how I like my capital ships, here is my take on ISD armament:
8x double very heavy turbolaser cannon (capital scale, fire arcs: 4 front/right/rear dorsal, 4 front/left/rear dorsal),
8x double very heavy ion cannon (capital scale, fire arcs: 4 front/right/rear dorsal, 4 front/left/rear dorsal),
6x double heavy turbolaser cannon (escort scale, fire arcs: 2 front/right/left dorsal, 2 front/right/rear, 2 front/left/rear),
6x double heavy ion cannon (escort scale, fire arcs: 2 front/right/left dorsal, 2 front/right/rear, 2 front/left/rear),
8x quad medium blaster cannon (starfighter scale, fire arcs: 2 turret ventral, 2 front/right/left dorsal, 2 front/right/rear, 2 front/left/rear),
4x tractor beam projector (capital scale, fire arcs: 2 turret ventral, 1 front/right, 1 front/left),
4x tractor beam projector (escort scale, fire arcs: 2 turret ventral, 1 front/right, 1 front/left),
4x tractor beam projector (starfighter scale, fire arcs: 2 turret ventral, 1 front/right, 1 front/left).
Yes, that's still a lot of boom, but it's only 37% of the WEG number, plus they're in different scales, which in my mind breaks it up further (not to mention logically makes the ship better at dealing with varied scale opponents).
Progressively smaller ships then get re-worked with a scaled number of guns on them. Under my approach to ship armament and off the top of my head, the Ecliptic would carry something like this:
4x double heavy turbolaser cannon (escort scale, fire arcs: 2 front/right/rear dorsal, 2 front/left/rear dorsal),
4x double heavy ion cannon (escort scale, fire arcs: 2 front/right/rear dorsal, 2 front/left/rear dorsal),
4x quad medium blaster cannon (starfighter scale, fire arcs: 2 turret ventral, 1 front/right/left dorsal 1 rear/right/left dorsal),
1x tractor beam projector (escort scale, fire arcs: 1 turret ventral),
1x tractor beam projector (starfighter scale, fire arcs: 1 turret ventral).
Again, I'm in no way pretending my approach is logical or all that well thought out. It's a purely emotional, gut-feeling thing. But it's what works for me where the WEG way doesn't, so that's what I do. _________________ Plagiarize! Let no one else's work evade your eyes,

Fair enough. You aren't the only one to make a house rules fix; I left most of the stats unchanged but shifted everything shorter than a Victory Star Destroyer down 2D in Scale relative to Starfighters (and relabeled them Starship Scale), and then moving everything Victory-sized and up up an additional 2D (Starfighter +8D) as the new Capital Scale, with the monster ships like the Executor and the Eclipse up an additional 4D (Starfighter + 12D) to Dreadnought-Scale. The only stats requiring re-writes were Capital and Dreadnought Scale ships. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation.
