|
|
Is there any sourcebook that actually lists all the equipment that is carried in a standard stormtrooper utility belt? Unless what we saw in ANH is an exception to the rule, we obviously see a grappling hook and syntherope dispenser. I believe I've read somewhere (not that I can find it now) that a spare comlink, spare blaster packs, and a power source are included in the complement of equipment.
Can anyone point me to a complete list? |

Stormtrooper armor is noted in the Rules of Engagement – The Rebel SpecForce Handbook pages 98-99 and the utility belt is noted as:
Utility Belt: High-tension wire, grappling hooks, spare blaster power packs, ion flares, concentrated rations, spare comlink, water packs. 2 medpacs
I believe the same is also noted in The Far Orbit Project page 143
[EDIT]
It should also be noted that the Rules of Engagement book also details other (specialised) stormtrooper utility belts which may differ slightly from the standard, for example the seatrooper has an additional rebreather and bubble tent, sandtrooper has water and survival kit, snow trooper has thermal tent and so on

There should also be a thermal detonator in it, the cylinder on the back is one made for storm troopers. |

I work with interactive media, so mostly web development, app development and some graphic design (though we have specialist graphic designers for the more intricate stuff) all tied specifically (for the most part) to the various Disney parks. _________________ "For every person with a spark of genius, there are a hundred with ignition trouble." |

Is this the Dan or Don personality? Which one is posting all the Rebels stats/write-ups? I'm so confused! |
There does seem to be an occasional Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde vibe, doesn't there? _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. It's expected that you will make up new rules to suit the needs of your game." - The Star Wars Roleplaying Game, 2R&E, pg. 69, WEG, 1996.

This is referenced (rather ambiguously) in the source material books Visual Dictionary - Ep IV, V, VI and The New Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology so could be added.
However, I have a feeling that since a thermal detonator is quite powerful in the RPG it was omitted to prevent unbalancing the game, since the PC's would potentially have a hard time of it if a squad of stormtroopers suddenly threw a bunch of thermal detonators at them!

I guess that a lot of troopers we see in the movies are parts of elite units so they might have that added to equipment in case of emergencies. It could also be an underpowered thermal detonator since a lot of the time the troopers are seen in areas where a large explosion would leave considerable damage such as on the death star or cloud city. |

Some sources say its a TD< others say its for 2 grenades. I prefer the latter, as allowing a group of PC's to come up with 10 TDs just cause they took out a squad of imps can allow things to get out of hand quickly. At least with 2 grenades i have HAD the imps use them.

Not really, since even throwing it to the max distance, would still get the tossing Troopers caught in the last (4d) blast radius) _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Agreed, I already have my stormtroopers carrying grenades, so it makes sense that the tube is some kind of dispenser, considering the miniaturization of technology it could conceivably hold more than 2, have one side dispense concussion grenades and the other dispense smoke or flash-bangs, maybe 2 of each.
Does anyone have their own ideas about standard equipment for the various factions?
