Stat My Navy! Falling Star Edition

I'm looking for some starships (and atmospheric craft) to use in the Falling Star Campaign. Anyone is welcome to submit any number of designs and will receive acknowledgement on air and on the website.

Here's the design criteria:

For part of the Falling Star campaign, the PC's will be visiting a planet in the far outer rim. The sapient species that inhabits this planet is large, nearly 2 meters tall, and maybe 3 meters long. They are intelligent, thoughtful and well spoken. Imagine the front half of a frog, 2 meters tall at the head, with the hind quarters of a T-Rex (that drags on the ground) (in other words, they clomp around on two big legs and their tail) For fine manipulation they have a sheaf of 10-20 tentacles of various widths that come out from the 'shoulders'

This species has spaceflight capability--essentially everything except hyperdrive technology. Their ships can range in size and capabilities from starfighter to cruiser though it should take several of their largest ships to directly challenge an ISD.

Due to some story-related psychological issues the species does NOT believe that ships, vehicles (or anything else) should cross domains if at all possible. IE: Ships are "Of the void" and thus never enter the atmosphere. Speeders are "Of the air" and shouldn't go under water or space.

One additional note, this species loves music. I am NOT suggesting the 'use the power of rock and roll' or anything like that. Nor am I looking for ships that look like a treble cleft. But ship names might incorporate that theme. Resonant-class Cruiser or Duet-class fighter or something like that might work.

Do they have any particular design motiffs that they favor for their engineering, such as potentially blocky craft (because they don't need to worry about atmospheric reentry) or even smooth, flowing lines (Because they appreciate aesthetics, as demonstrated by their love of music)?

Also, do they have any technological limitations (perhaps culturally or economically practical) that would influence their designs aside from not having hyperdrives? For example, if they don't have easy access to blaster gas (perhaps not wanting to be reliant on foreign traders to get it) they might be reliant on older slugthrower tech, etc...

This culture is pretty diverse (They do have some significant themes and a fairly unified religious structure) but their architecture and technology are diverse; they employ droids, repulsorlifts, etc.

They're are not above using either beasts or technology to accomplish a goal, but for example: If you want to travel through wild places on the world, you travel by animal. You want to travel through cities or highways, you travel by repulsorlift.

They get SOME trade but its been almost exclusively through fringers, small traders, smugglers. No major corporations have really been here. The Empire only really made official contact in the last 6 months.
No one has sought to sell them hyperdrive technology because that would mean an end to their exclusive trade deals.

The certainly have blaster technology and missile technology. There is no story reason they have to have tractor beam technology, but I would say it almost goes hand in hand with repulsorlift technology.

The Igatic (the name of the species) maintain a single orbital space station operating on a space elevator;sometimes known (somewhat incorrectly) as a skyhook in the Star Wars universe. All of their ships launch from the station.

I initially conceived the station as a series of bubbles, like a multicolored clutch of frog spawn. (in keeping with my semi-froglike species idea) but if something else fits your design aesthetic, i'm open to ideas.

I appreciate you fleshing that out a bit more. I've got a couple ideas for something like a modern-day littoral ship that I'm in the process of fleshing out for it.

Capsule: The Sonorous-class Cruiser is a mainstay ship within the Igatic's customs force. Roughly based on an older Corellian design and incorporating some even older technology, the Sonorous is known as an imposing warhorse in the backwaters parts that can typically intimidate most of the small craft visiting the system into obeying the system's laws. While not particularly well-armed by galactic core standards, the Sonorous remains quite capable of rebuffing most incursions by pirates, smugglers, and any other unwanted guests. Its lack of speed has led to Igatics to carefully place the craft around the system and back them up with quicker warships.

I will, but not until they make an appearance in game/broadcast. The adventures around this planet will involve a great deal of figuring out this species, what their culture and motivations are (something of a first-contact cultural exploration) so I don't want to spoil it.

What I've shared here is what the players will be getting in their initial briefing on the planet, so no real spoilers, and their military isn't all that mysterious or enigmatic.

I can share my rough sketch of the aliens (I am NOT an artist though)

And Silactria IV, complete with space elevator

The Tempo-class Interceptor is the most commonly seen native starfighter within the Igatic system, often found patrolling the system in small groups. It is notable in having a two person crew dividing the responsibilities of the ship's performance, with a dedicated pilot in the front of the cockpit to focus on piloting the craft and a dedicated weapons officer controlling the ship's heavy hitting armament. Tempo-class are fairly nimble and well armed, but with a lack of shielding and only a fair armored hull are not suitable for sustained combat against many galactic standard starfighters. To offset that weakness, Tempos typically swarm their opponents until heavier forces with more staying power can arrive to finish off the combat.

The Cadence-class Starfighter is designed to eliminate the targets that the Tempos are incapable of easily destroying. It is a slow, but exceptionally well-armed and protected vessel capable of making multiple strafing runs on larger vessels, where its fire-linked laser cannons and multiple proton torpedo launchers can incur significant damage to opposing vessels. Cadences typically work with Tempos, with the interceptors harassing and coraling opponents into the devastating fire arcs of the Cadences.

Glad you caught that. For some reason, I also managed to type "sensor" by itself in there twice too...

Other: Can be fitted with 1 Harmony Module from the following list:

Battle Module: The Battle Module provides the Harmony with an assortment of weaponry to adequately fight a variety of foes. It is probably the most common warship module in use by the people of Igatic.

20 Quad Turbolaser Cannons
Fire Arc: (6 Front, 7 Left, 7 Right)

Atmospheric Range: 2-10/30/60 km
Damage: 2D

War Module: This is the oldest module used by the Harmony-class, which encompasses a massive pair of their own developed mass drivers to hurl asteroids at opposing vessels. While powerful, the weakness of their fixed firing arcs typically means that such vessels are escorted by other craft to cover their weak flanks.

2 Mass Drivers
Fire Arc: 2 Front
Crew: 10 Gunners per Cannon
Fire Control: 1D
Space Range: 2-15 / 45 / 90
Damage: 8D

20 Starfighter-scale Point-Defense Laser Cannons

Crew: 1 Gunner per cannon
Fire Control: 3D
Space Range: 1-3/12/25 Space Units
Atmospheric Range: 2-10/30/60 km
Damage: 2D

Missile Module: This module turns the Harmony into a missile cruiser complemented by a smattering of beam weapons to allow it to remain a viable combatant once its missile magazines are empty. Rumor has it that the module was heavily inspired by the people of Igatic watching a holo of Victory-class Star Destroyers in action against the Separatists in the closing days of the Clone Wars.

10 Quad Turbolaser Cannons
Fire Arc: (2 Front, 4 Left, 4 Right)
Crew: 3 Gunners per cannon
Fire Control: 2D
Space Range: 3-20/40/80
Atmospheric Range: 6-30/70/150 km
Damage: 4D+2

20 Concussion Missile Launchers
Fire Arc: 10 front, 5 left, 5 right
Crew: 2
Skill: Capital ship gunnery
Fire Control: 2D
Space Range: 2-12/30/60
Atmosphere Range: 4-24/60/120 km
Damage: 9D

10 Starfighter-scale Point-Defense Laser Cannons
Fire Arc: 2 Front, 4 Left, 4 Right
Crew: 1 Gunner per cannon
Fire Control: 3D
Space Range: 1-3/12/25
Atmospheric Range: 2-10/30/60 km
Damage: 2D

Customs Module: This module is used to turn the Harmony-class into a ship more suitable for customs duty by adding hangar bays for more patrol craft, holding areas for confiscated cargo and persona non grata, as well as a few more weapons to allow it to stand up to most legally armed vessels.

10 Capital-scale Laser Cannons
Fire Arc: 2 Front, 4 Left, 4 Right
Crew: 6 Gunners per cannon
Fire Control: 2D
Space Range: 3-15/35/75
Atmospheric Range: 6-30/70/150 km
Damage: 3D

10 Starfighter-scale Point-Defense Laser Cannons
Fire Arc: 2 Front, 4 Left, 4 Right
Crew: 1 Gunner per cannon
Fire Control: 3D
Space Range: 1-3/12/25
Atmospheric Range: 2-10/30/60 km
Damage: 2D

Complement: +24 more starfighters, +6 more light transports

Survey Module: This module turns the Harmony into a scout cruiser to better explore the fringes of the Igatic system and potentially beyond. Most of the module's space is taken up by science labs, extensive supplies, and a very intensive recycling system that allow the Harmony to stay away from Igatic for years at end. It also carries an extensive supply of probes, sensors, and smaller craft for exploring these remote systems.

6 Capital-scale Laser Cannons
Fire Arc: 2 Front, 2 Left, 2 Right
Crew: 6 Gunners per cannon
Fire Control: 2D
Space Range: 3-15/35/75
Atmospheric Range: 6-30/70/150 km
Damage: 3D

10 Starfighter-scale Point-Defense Laser Cannons
Fire Arc: 2 Front, 4 Left, 4 Right
Crew: 1 Gunner per cannon
Fire Control: 3D
Space Range: 1-3/12/25
Atmospheric Range: 2-10/30/60 km
Damage: 2D

Complement: +12 Light Transports, various probes, droids, and other equipment appropiate to the mission at hand.

Cargo Module: This module turns the Harmony-class Cruiser into a large, short-haul cargo vessel, typically to help supply other vessels from Igatic far from their world.

Cargo Capacity: +80000 Metric Tons

Battle Carrier Module: This module turns the Harmony into a “battle carrier” by adding some point defenses and turning the bulk of the module into a single, massive hangar. As intimidating as the module sounds, by galactic standards, it would typically be classified as an escort carrier.

10 Starfighter-scale Point-Defense Laser Cannons
Fire Arc: 2 Front, 4 Left, 4 Right
Crew: 1 Gunner per cannon
Fire Control: 3D
Space Range: 1-3/12/25
Atmospheric Range: 2-10/30/60 km
Damage: 2D

Complement: +48 Starfighters

Description: The Harmony-class Cruiser is one of the larger and more capital-intensive vessels built on that world. Because of the great expense in building such a large vessel, they are designed the Harmony to be modular in attempt to save more cost as they gain offworlder technology from outside traders. The base of the craft is catamaran arrangement of two cylindrical hulls which are topped by a large platform over three hundred meters in length upon which a massive Harmony Modules, shaped like the bow of a dreadnaught, are mounted. These modules can turn the cruiser from a lightly armed vessel to dated but powerful warships and useful fleet support craft. The main fault of the Harmony-class is its relatively low speed compared to galactic standard vessels and a lack of rear-firing weapons.
