Rare morning post for me. The landing pad and the bridge ar clear of obstacles. Syllri and Tobias are climbing their air speeders so their not shown. Nothing's to scale.
Edit: Landing pad elongated by ten meters |
The map is from October, but it does show the positioning and of the bridge. The Trandos are on the landing platform and were firing at long range. _________________ FLUFFY for President!!!!

Sorry about the wait Hellcat. I saw your earlier post and incorrectly assumed you were starting on the 11th. _________________ A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part. |

Don't worry about it, it was meant to be a heads up that I was going to try getting the game going again, though in fairness I should have said I'd wait until the 11th to see if you or Wisconsin Wookiee posted before moving on. Was also meant as a deadline for myself and the public announcement gave folks the right to say to me "Hey Hellcat, you said you were going to try getting things going no later than the 11th. Well it's now the 15th so what gives?" _________________ FLUFFY for President!!!!

I'm unclear, is Ali 20 meters further down the roof, or 20 meters further down the wall? (standing/laying on the roof or hanging on the wall by her fingertips?) _________________ A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part. |

Further down the roof. Think of the building as like a factory, warehouse, aircraft hangar, or a mall. In fact some of what you've encountered in it would suggesr it may have been some kind of factory at one time. Big factory, warehouse, hangar, or mall buildings could well cover a thousand feet or more in length. Take a look at Hanagr One at Moffet Field, http://historicproperties.arc.nasa.gov/#. Originally built to house the US Navy airship USS Macon, Hangar One is 1,140 feet long, or 380 yards (347.472 meters). It's a huge place with plenty of room on the roof for folks to jump on one end of the roof and have a helicopter crash on the opposite.
This building isn't the size of Hangar One, but it's still a big building. Bastilda landed closer to the edge than you did, figure about 3 or 4 meters. You landed 20 meters further down the length of the roof. And the airspeeder crashed nearly another hundred meters further down. _________________ FLUFFY for President!!!!

Alright, that makes sense. A couple more questions though:
Is it metallic?
Can Ali stand up on the roof without fear of sliding off? _________________ A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part. |

Flat roof more made of ferrocere. My question would be how magnetic feeocrete would be, does the concrete outweigh the amount of iron used so that it's barely magenetic enough to grasp. Or is it like concrete used in building buildings and bridges where you'd have iron rebar incased in concrete which then prevents a magnetic field from reach the rebar. _________________ FLUFFY for President!!!!

I think the key part of that is molecularly bonded so it is not just iron rebar. Since its not fully iron I would give a small bonus to balance checks while using magna feet, but not enough to be fully magnetic.
and to argue the other side:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrite_(magnet)
Granted the iron is a pirmary component
So, its really just a debate as to the concentration of metal in Ferrocrete. Do you think builders used more of the cheap concrete, or more of the more durable iron. Personally I would say that public contractors use more concrete and military would use more iron. _________________ The Vong have Arrived

Hey, everyone!
I'm giving everyone a heads-up...it looks like, in the next few days, I'll be deploying with the Red Cross out to Oklahoma. If so, it'll be at least a fifteen day deployment.
I'll do my best to keep up with posting, but I can't guarantee what kind of time or signal I'll have out there, and I just wanted everyone to be aware of what was going on.
If I do deploy, If I can, I'll post when I'm leaving. |
