I found one that actually supports Wild Dice loosely (you can set one die a different color) its called The Dice and it's free. |

No problem. I only found it a few weeks ago myself. |

I got the app, and it's a step in the right direction. A D6 gamer is going to have to write one for us, though...no one else is going to care to put in an option that reflects the functionality of the Wild Die. In the meantime, this app is useful, as long as you don't mind counting dice yourself. You can select any number of three different colors of dice (white, red, and black). You could use the white dice for regular dice, one red die for the Wild Die, and then three or four black dice to represent subsequent Wild Dice in the event of a six or sixes (you can say that the sequence of the black dice is based on proximity to you). This saves you from having to tote dice around, I guess, but it would be really great if we had an app that would calculate totals based on subsequent rolls enabled by a six on the Wild Die (and give you the option of subtracting dice in the event of a one on the Wild Die). _________________ Arek | Kage |

I wonder how hard it would be for a novice to write a D6 SWRPG-specific app. It seems to me the rules programming would be fairly simple... _________________ Or that excessively long "Noooooooooo" was the Whining Side of the Force leaving him. - Dustflier

I actually started developing a dice roller for my NOOK Color a while back. I never really finished it, but it seemed to work pretty well on the emulator I had installed. Here's some info on it along with some screenshots:

That's pretty snazzy. Anyone feel like writing such an app for Android? _________________ Arek | Kage |

The NOOK Color is actually based on the Android OS, so it may run on normal Android devices as well. If I get some time in the near future to finish the app, I'll see if it will run on normal Android devices. _________________ "Mind what you have learned. Save you it can." --Yoda

That's pretty much exactly what I'm looking for! Now to get it for iPhone... _________________ Or that excessively long "Noooooooooo" was the Whining Side of the Force leaving him. - Dustflier

Oh, yeah. I think I may have known that. I'm not up on the e-readers like I should be. That would be fantastic, Loc. Keep us updated! _________________ Arek | Kage |

If you had a phone with internet like an iphone or android or whatever, couldn't you just bookmark the rancorpit's dice roller on the main webpage and use that? _________________ RR

So long as it doesn't use flash, probably. My problem is that I need something I can store locally. _________________ Or that excessively long "Noooooooooo" was the Whining Side of the Force leaving him. - Dustflier

I'd rather not rely on internet access, especially since sometimes I'm in the boonies where I have little to no signal. But it's a stopgap. I was using a dice roller over the internet on my phone last night for a PBeM game, and it wasn't perfect, but it got the job done. _________________ Arek | Kage |

I've got an Android tablet and smartphone.
I've GM'd other games but this is the first time since I've had the devices. Using Google Docs I've found it easier to keep track of things and distribute information to my players.
Now that I've done it, I couldn't possibly go back to having pieces of paper and folders. |

For those who are interested, I have made a VERY SIMPLE dice roller for android.
I haven't had time to develop it yet, so its very basic (I'm also learning android development so its slow work) but I plan to make it better when time permits it, fix the interface, add features and so on.
Right now you can select between 0 and 12 dices and add 0 to 2 pips, it rolls one of them as wild dice (rolling another if it comes up a 6 but that's it), and displays the results, both total and each dice. _________________ Visit My site to download the Star Wars d6 Tools: Its a work in progress |
