I heartily endorse the slaving and the P G Wodehouse suggestions. Three more:
Some eligible but VERY undesirable daughter goes angling for marriage. Offend her, and her father's righteous wrath will ruin the faux noble's standing in the fundraising community.
Some obscure and dangerous sport is in vogue among the glitterati, and the noble (perhaps with his team in tow) will be expected to participate. Easy enough if you're the idle rich and well-specialized in this sport, harder otherwise. Make them plant a painted hand-print on a rancor, or fly craft fragile enough to crack up mid-flight in inexpert hands.
A top-level imperial inspector takes his retirement in the next manor over. He's skilled and suspicious enough to spot slip-ups. And it should be oh-so-tempting to kidnap him for interrogation... Alternately, the imperial inspector is only here to recover after a near-miss assassination attempt. The PCs get orders to finish the job. |

This wouldn't qualify as dangerous, but it did provide action and a LOT of comic relief. Our gm in a recent mission had the characters participate in Tauntaun racing. We each jockeyed a Tauntaun through a winter obstacle course which featured pits, ice patches, lazer beams and other hidden surprises. One of us unfortunately was given a Tauntaun who had net yet been broken in. It was actually pretty funny and was some good action to break up a more political story line. Give the winner a prize for winning or something. |
