A few things I would have done different.

One. I don't think its too Huttish to just kill off the PC's. If they had embarassed and threatened the Hutt I would have thought he would have wanted reve ...

Your players are rebel commandos on Hoth during the Imperial invasion. They find a way to take out the Imperials and they don't have to evacuate.

Or Your players find 3PO and R2 ...

And some villians are all about power. If they kill them, then the bad guy doesn't have anyone to fear him. It is scarrier for the villian to taunt and stalk rather then kill. But then that all depend ...
